The Ultimate Incentive Threadies go all out!

Options
I've been posting here for as long as I've known my husband - the man who was my original incentive to get debt free. You can read that story below. This is now the 7th diary, and along my debt free journey I've picked up a few lovely waifs and strays who just go to show its the company not the destination that makes life what it is. Several of them have decided to join me in my latest and by no means most hairbranded challenge - to see which one of us can save or clear £1000 first. Thank you for sticking with me for so many years girlies (and Poolie), and thank you to all the lurkers and new strays we've picked up more recently.

The Diaries

Diary 1: The Ultimate Incentive to get debt free, can I do it by New Years?
How I cleared £16,456 of debt in 250 days (£65.82 that works out at!), leading to my DFD of the 24th April 2009.
My Ultimate Incentive to clear the debt was that my boyfriend (known here as NIM, Naked Irish Man, poor fella was nicknamed by the girlies on my thread and it kind of stuck, he's not always naked, honest!) told me he would move to England from Ireland when I cleared my debt. I actually cleared more debt than I had take home pay in the same period, through doing a lot of little extra income earners mostly online. If you're fighting for ideas on how to clear your debt, this diary is chock full of suggestions.

Diary 2: The Ultimate Incentive worked! Now onto phase two...
My second diary, where NIM has just moved to England, and we start to save up for a house

Diary 3: The Ultimate Incentive proposed! Buying a house, wedding and staying debt free
My third diary, after NIM has proposed and we're faced with the task of saving for a house and a wedding, in the space of a year, and staying debt free.

Diary 4: The Ultimate Incentive proposed! Time for an ultimate challenge...
My fourth diary, where I set myself a challenge I failed miserably at and never really got started due to lack of time. Moving swiftly on from this one!

Diary 5: The Ultimate Incentive to have an amazing 2010

Where we started out with the best of intentions, underestimated the cost of our wedding and renovating the house and ended up solidly back in debt - but had an amazing wedding in the process

Diary 6: The Ultimate Incentive to get debt free...Dinah & NIM go head to head.
Our first year of married life, where we've nattered a lot but not really made any progress whatsoever on clearing the debt. We never did go head to head, we work much better as a team.

I'll do an update no more than once a day - so if you want updating please put it in obvious text and I'll update your total on the front page. I may even turn it into a leader board. Ooooh, I just remembered - MSE allows tickers in posts but not signitures. If everyone made a ticker and gave me the code to put into the post they could update their own totals. Can you tell I like the zero work for me approach?! Even better when I'm cheered on my a small jpg snail crawling along the road to the finish line.

Sounds great and a good idea just to update once a day. I like the leaderboard idea. Appeals to my more competitive nature!

Tickerfactory ladies. Then pm me the url code. You can update your own progress on there and it will auto update on the front page - feel free to ask me to update too, and of course post your progress... but my snail is going to break into the safe if its the last thing he does!

    Happy new diary.

Bit of a confession, I have actually followed you from your first diary, so have seen some of your progress from the beginning. - That does sound somewhat stalker-ish, I promise its not though, it was just nice to pop in and out as and when I found you at the top of the board( only just figured out how to subscribe, not so long ago).

Anyway, reason for the confession was because I just wanted to say, it really is amazing what you guys have achieved, even if for the short term you are in debt I have no doubt you will beat it and be back to where you want to be, starting with the £1000 challenge.

    Good luck everyone.
