Well one good thing that came out of declaring war against the rude accountant - the Customer Service Manager has been dealing with my account personally and has found all sorts of things to help bring down the Corp Tax that I had totally disregarded... so he's set up a recurring expense for me re: use of my premises for work so thats £115 a month that is a claimable expense.

Although it all comes out in the wash really, as obviously I get paid, I put aside VAT and Corp Tax and pay myself salary, expenses and a dividend left from the balance so really all I am doing is paying myself less of a monthly dividend.

But it's nice to see they take complaints seriously. I thought because I am a one-woman freelancing ltd company, I was probably small fry, hence the accountant's rudeness, but he reckons that small companies who keep themselves in good financial nick make their jobs so much easier than the people who leave everything to the last minute and then call them in a panic! So much so he is going to propose benefits to reward good tidy clients like discounted fees or free self assessment if their affairs are simple and not complex.
    So now I feel noble!

It does make me wonder though what other things their "senior" accountants miss ...

So I was going to make an overpayment of more than 3x the amount just to get it to below £80K but figured with the way they add interest and the fact I am going spend a mahusive amount on the car and the house (probably around £3K) I would be better waiting...

But then I worked out the latest figures and allowing for interest adjustments - I nicked under anyway!!!

Hurdler did you hear about the NCJ students whose law exam wasn't saved :eek::eek:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
