Accountants baffle me - the accountant in charge rang me... telling me I'd done my payroll wrong and that I needed to be using Real Time PAYE (which only came in April this year) so she said "oh... yes...that's right" For heaven's sake!
Anyway - I got too excited, and if there are any accountants in the thread perhaps they can explain this to me.
First month of the year - I worked for noodles who were useless in every aspect.
Second month of the tax year - I started to work for myself, and was told that because I had one month of "real salary, tax, NI" I could only pay myself £341 a month until the new tax year.
Accountant now says I SHOULD have been paying myself more (well ok...) and somehow this means my PAYE has been overpaid to HMRC and they owe my limited company money. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? Apparently any cheque will be to the company so will have to pay it back in, and eventually it will be a dividend...
Anyway - I'll let her sort it out...
Why I came back is...
I got my updated mortgage bobbins
Amount outstanding is now £81,536.13 and next month's payment is £400.26 - so a 3x OP will take me under £400 which is psychologically very nice indeedy.
In fact I am sorely tempted to actually do a Tilly-Tidy in reverse and pay enough to make it £80,000 (or perhaps even £79.999.99) again so psychologically is looks as though I owe less! Does that even make sense? I forgot how addictive this is!

NSD - at my mums and decided neither of us needed anything in town so we have saved the temptation of a hot chocolate and slice of cake in the shop of St Mike. But we will allow ourselves a cooked brekkie in T3sco as I need to get my groceries anyway tomorrow.
I think I have just enough soup for the next two weeks so no need for Carrots and Parsnips this fortnight. Brought all my vouchers so should bring that down by a decent amount.
Also need to top up the wagon this month, which I'll do at the same time. So means when I get home I can enjoy my day off. Tennis about to start at 1pm and will be on it like sonic for the rest of the day until about midnight, sigh!- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

LOL - yes well I am at the aged parent's house and I just snorted my can of coke up my snout at S & M. She is looking at me very disapprovingly which means - it doesn't matter how old you are, you can still get that withering look from a parent that makes you feel 5 years old.
If you'll excuse me I have just been sent to my room!- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Ugh didn't get to bed until 1am as Rafael Nadal insisted in making a total pigs ear of his semi-final so my eyes are realllllly tired. Day off today thankfully so about to sort out my expenses for the week and some bits and bobs at mum's.
Went up to T£sco and mum, bless her, paid for my groceries and diesel as a thank you for coming to see her. So I used up a shed load of vouchers and I/we saved £10 off the shopping overall as the vouchers run out this month.
We were going to drive across town to hunt for a coffee machine that she wanted to buy me for Christmas but they were all sold out, but my eyes are so grainy I couldn't face it and crowds. It is my birthday next month so I will see if we can do click and collect in store just in case they don't have the ones I want!
I treated mum to a Thai takeaway last night so we're having leftovers now for lunch and then I need a nap!
I actually read back over my diary in full this morning - I cannot believe I took VR in 2011, started working for myself as a freelancer in 2012, and got a paid sports writing gig in 2013.

Buy a ticket. That will improve your chances :rotfl:.
It's one of those things I have wrestled with in money-saving - should I keep buying them (they come out via direct debit) - every time I think "no - get shot of it" I get that stupid "about your ticket" email and find I have won a tenner!!!- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Tin foil containers can be washed up (by hand or in DW) and reused, but the trouble with using them for leftovers is that you can't put them in a microwave.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
