Houses look great!
Wish my excel skills were up to that!
Oz Open! Fingers crossed for Robson
Hmm with that wrist injury and two withdrawals I am thinking very much an outsider and if Muzz makes it past R4 it will be a great result for him!- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Is this the world's STUPIDEST bank? I have an HSBC Online Saver account that has a year's worth of a cash allowance as an emergency fund. I have a current account and ahead of each month I put in £70 for each week ahead in the next month and then just take the money out each week. I have amassed the extra pot as an emergency fund, and thankfully have not had to delve into it since leaving my job.
So imagine my shock when I get a letter from them saying that because the account has been inactive, they were going to SUSPEND my access to it, taking it off my Internet banking, even though they would continue to pay interest, the only way I could get at it was in branch.
Is it really so ****ing hard to have an account where you can dump money and leave it there unless you need it? I mean REALLY???
I wanted a chance to keep it totally separate from any of my other accounts - but no - there is NO account they can offer that I don't have to transfer money out of and back into on a regular basis.
This bank is an utter shambles. I really cannot wait for the customer service call where I will tell them exactly what I think of them.
Sadly they gave me no option but to transfer that pot of emergency cash into my 6-months of outgoings pot - so I rang my bank for salary and bills and asked them if they had any issues with money, dumped in a savings account for easy access IF I ever need it and if not it just stays there... not surprisingly given I'd saved £3600+ for year's worth of weekly cash they said "by all means put it here". Defeats the objects of my specific pots of money... seriously very very irritating.- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Tentatively paid in my Tax rebate... so Vernon is looking a little bit more chunky!
But out of that will go £1219 as a 3x Overpayment on 6th Feb- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Sigh... the torrential rain falling on my parcel box (bolted to my front wall) has caused a load of rain damage internally.
I called my pet builder/painter/decorator and he's suggested he does the redecoration in the spring if we get past this rubbish weather and seeing as my cousin's son accidentally managed to get his handprint on one of my other walls with Psoriasis ointment, I may as well get the living room done in one go. Not to mention finding a new place to bolt my parcel box
Just as well that Vernon has a lot of food in his belly at the moment... (and just as well I didn't throw it all at the mortgage as was the initial temptation).
The other thing I am changing is... I decided to take advantage of a TCB offer on graze where I got the first and fifth box free but was still wrestling with paying for the snacks until I realised - 4 boxes in a typical month is £15.56.
I would pay around that for a takeaway each week that I would rarely even finish! That was a bit of a wake up call when I did the sums... having always scorned paying for snacks!
Anyways - roll on the 6th and I will at least make another hefty overpayment for Feb. Stupid rain.- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Hurdler in action:
- Moving my cash allowance from that triangular bank to the one with the singing people as they seem to happy with money left in an savings account doing nothing unless needed - when hacked off by people, vote with your feet!
- My Water meter bill arrived and I am in credit, so I rang and they've applied it to my account so for three months until the new bill comes out I will be paying £6 for my water.
One less money pot but I have never heard anything so ridiculous as to be told that an account with over £3500 will be suspended so that I have to physically go in to the bank to reclaim my money. I don't think so.- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Sorry, I meant hope that Robosn makes it to compete - not to win!
Anyway, thought it was a pretty good tourney all in all - thought the highlight was actually waw vs. djoko.
I will have to check out your website again as would love to read your thoughts once work and life has calmed down on my end - was barely able to keep up on bbc sport!M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -

It certainly was a full on two weeks. I covered the night matches but that meant being up around 7am to take over from the people covering the Aussie days.
Spent all day in town but productive - I have a meeting at h4lif4x tomorrow to move my money from h3bc lock stock and barrell - that will now be my cash moneypot. that's two moneypots I have closed and now am spread between three banks... so I suppose not bad.- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Fleeting visit - but here we go with Feb's payments
And with the prompted recalculation:
Which leaves Vernon the Virtual Mortage Money-Pig with:
Having to keep some money by as my living room will need redecorating after rain has got in behind the secure lock box bolted to my front wall with all the terrible rain we've been having :-(
BUT savings this month will be almost £25 in gym fees switching from Virgin to David Lloyd.
Next month I will need to crop my pictures I think but no time today... so sorry about that- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033
