It was to me, obviously at my address, but I am not a vodaphone customer, and never have been.
I rang vodaphone and they confirmed my date of birth etc didn't match that account and so I presume it is someone using my details.
The Vodaphone man just said to return the letter to them and they will sort it out. I don't mind returning the letter but I am thinking if that is a bad move in case they don't sort things out?
Anyone else had this?
Thanks.
Oh I see, someone falls victim to identity theft but Vodafone fraud don't pick it up, despite the DOB not matching the individual's credit file.
But when I take out a contract with them in my name I'm apparently not actually me but someone masquerading as me and get my account blocked by fraud three times.

Just a quick update.
Thanks to Lee it seems the bill is something that dates back to an order for a DELL computer a couple of years ago. There was a trial for a broadband dongle, which I didn't use. Seems they must have been charging me something for that without my knowledge and without telling me.
Fast forward 18 months and the letter asking for money - the one and only letter.
Lee is now looking into this and I am hoping the charges will be soon dropped as I haven't used or ordered any service.
So not a case of fraud, just a case of account error?Debts: Virgin Card [STRIKE]£5,600[/STRIKE] £5,636, First Direct [STRIKE]£7,700[/STRIKE] £7,000, Halifax [STRIKE]£3,200[/STRIKE] £3,810, Halifax Clarity [STRIKE]£755[/STRIKE] £711, Tesco [STRIKE]£4,005[/STRIKE] £4,450, MNBA [STRIKE]£6,700[/STRIKE] £6,580, Loan [STRIKE]£15,834[/STRIKE] £15,218 Total: [STRIKE](45K at highest) £43,794k[/STRIKE] £43,4050 -
Hi juneoates1,
I am sorry to hear this has happened to your brother. I have had it happen to me before and I know how worrying it can be.
So that I can make sure this has been logged as fraud from our side, can you drop me an email to the address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject.
Many thanks,
Heidi

Final update.
Seems a sim I had been given on a free trial when I bought a Dell computer a couple of years ago, which I never used and disposed of was used and activated a couple of months ago. Well over a year after the trial.
I am happy with response and support from Lee though as the account has now been closed and all sims etc blocked. I don't have to pay for anything either.
Many thanks Lee.Debts: Virgin Card [STRIKE]£5,600[/STRIKE] £5,636, First Direct [STRIKE]£7,700[/STRIKE] £7,000, Halifax [STRIKE]£3,200[/STRIKE] £3,810, Halifax Clarity [STRIKE]£755[/STRIKE] £711, Tesco [STRIKE]£4,005[/STRIKE] £4,450, MNBA [STRIKE]£6,700[/STRIKE] £6,580, Loan [STRIKE]£15,834[/STRIKE] £15,218 Total: [STRIKE](45K at highest) £43,794k[/STRIKE] £43,4050 -
Hi onehitwonder,
Thanks for returning to your thread to confirm that this case is now resolved for you.
It's always pleasing to bring about a positive conclusion where possible.
Best wishes,
