Something you may want to consider if egg sharing, is I believe the law was changed a few years ago so that children born from sperm/egg donations are allowed to find the identidy of their donor once they reach 18.

If you didn't conceive a 2nd child, but then discovered that you had donated an egg that did result in a pregnancy, would you be ok with that?

How old are you? Is putting a 2nd child on the back burner whilst you save the money not an option? (I do realise the cost may rise in the interim).

What Spendless says is true - you cannot donate anonynously in this country.

However, you can choose not to find out whether your eggs resulted in a pregnancy or a live birth - hence why it's really important to get the correct information from a clinic. They are very well used to handling egg donation cases and the information is handled very sensitively. Giving someone else the chance to have a family is an amazing thing to do and you're well treated as a donor.

Once you are matched with a recipient the clinic won't even have you there at the same time. You need to fill out a million forms and discuss with your partner things, like - if he were to die or you were to split up would he consent to the use of any embyos created.

It's a very complex and demanding thing to go through so please get the correct information so you can make an educated decision about the best options for you :)
