Can you not just be artificially inseminated?
As well as the idea of somebody else raising your biological child, the processes involved in egg donation are not straightforward and are not risk free. I believe several women in the US have died after trying to sell their eggs to pay for college.0 -

I think that depends on where you live; we have secondary infertility and are having investigations currently. The NHS is funding all the investigations, and will fund IVF if necessary too.
OP: In terms of getting IUI (since you have eggs, and frozen sperm), have you considered going overseas? Budapest has a fertility clinic with an good reputation for success rates for IUI, and is considerably cheaper than the UK..When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -

There isn't a single PCT that will fund IVF routinely for couples that already have a child. Fact.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Have you asked for your husbands sperm back so you can try artificial insemination?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Good luck with your treatments! Our area (at the time- may be different now, as I say we eventually conceived 2002) would not help with secondary fertility if there was a live child from the relationship. I really do hope it has changed, we were very fortunate- we were able to save and accept family help to eventually achieved our second baby but we met so many other people who had to give up at that point.:j BSC #101 :j0 -

thank youI think we've been incredibly lucky, I thought we wouldn't get any help at all. There may come a time when we have to pay for an element of the treatment, but it hasn't happened yet (although we'll pay, gladly, if it helps us get our child).
OP: What did the clinic you contacted suggest to you? IUI is much cheaper than IVF, even in a UK clinic (drugs aren't always necessary for one thing), so I'm surprised that wasn't suggested to you. When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
You are very lucky if you get IVf for 'only' 4k.
I have a wealth of experience on the subject (7 rounds) and the price is considerably higher than that with all the drugs etc.
I know diff clinics have different prices but I still think that could be a conservative estimate.
Good luck in finding a solution2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Having personal experience of this, I believe IUI rather than IVF is probably the most logical course of treatment for your situation. This is a less costly treatment if there are "no complications".
IVF in the UK will cost £6k minimum privately, including drugs etc. As others have said, NHS treatment is highly unlikely. IUI would be a quarter of the IVF costs.
Good luck.0 -

There seem to be a few shows where I assume you would get a lot of private providers under one roof, maybe you could go along to one of those:
