Vodafone withholding contract information on it's website

I can answer that question for you, your contract ends in February next year. You just told us.0 -

It is certainly not professional to have a broken link on a web page and Vodafone should correct this.
Having said that, then the right answer would appear to be "Ring 191".
Would it be helpful to have your contract end date on "My Account". Yes - in fact Orange do that. However, it's not the dramatic withholding of information that you seem to be making an issue of. A broken link and no account-end details on line may be annoying, but no more than that.0 -

Didn't I just do that? The OP states in his opening sentence "I'm trying to work out when my 18 month Vodafone contract ends."
You then go on to say "I too would like to see the question answered, especially as my contract is up in Feb next year"
So my understanding is that like the OP, you want to know when your contract ends, yet you seem to already know the answer, so why ask the question?
The OP seemed a little unreasonable when he refused to just call 191 to find out, you seem to be significantly beyond unreasonable by expecting vodafone to tell you what you already know! :rotfl:0 -

I am being beyond unreasonable? doh
Have a look at the quote below, (it was also quoted in my original post) it contains the question that I would like answering. Can an *official* vodafone representative, who is openly on the vodafone payrole and represents the companies views/company policies please answer my two questions?
Why has this hugely important help page been broken for at least the last 2 months?
And more importantly - why are exact contract start/end dates not available on in the "My account" section of the vodafone website?
The old adage 'never argue with idiots, the will always drag you down to their level' springs to mind0 -
Hi wattc,
I have taken a look at the error page you have mentioned in your post. The page which caused the error message from Google no longer exists. I can assure you this is not us purposely concealing information from you.
I understand your point that it is not necessarily clear what the exact dates are, which is something I can feed back.
As gjchester and ANN S have mentioned, if you do not wish to call customer services to get this info, we have our own eForum which you can post on and our team in Web Relations can give you any information you wish regarding your account.
As I wouldn't want to disclose your personal information on a forum, I will ask you to email me directly via the email address shown here and ask you to put WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject. You may see this in most of my posts. The reason I ask for this is so that I can deal with any issue or question personally via email, rather than posting it in public view.
I monitor this forum nearly every day and will respond personally to any emails I get. My team also work through Facebook, Twitter and on our eForum to offer customer service and advice, giving you various opportunities to get a quick response without having to call in.
I hope this has helped answer your concerns. If there is anything else I can help with then please do feel free to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Heidi

For future reference if you cant access the page through the shown link on the site it’s always work copying the site and link name into Google and seeing what comes back. If you get the result you are expecting but still cant fully open it click light blue ‘Cached’ under the relevant Google result and that will invariably show you what you want (it’s a historical view of the page). That way if Vodafone’s hungover office junior has made a change to the page and omitted a bit of code stopping the page working or it’s no longer in use (in this case) you can still view it before it was tinkered with/removed

I had intended to provide links to show what I mean but as a new user I can’t post them
I agree websites should work in every respect but they don’t so you have to have a poke about to get what you want

That's a bit harsh, I'd describe your intelligence as questionable, but you aren't quite an idiot yet.
So you still want to know when your contract ends even though you have already told us that it ends in February? And there was me thinking that trolls only got paid min. wage, it clearly pays much more.0 -

why thank you. You earn more than the minimum wage? now that does surprise me0 -
I'm in the process of leaving Vodafone after approx 5 years and, although I have no complaints about the network coverage, their website has always been (and still is) shockingly bad.
It's as if (I've had this feeling since the beginning) they don't want you to find out certain information like when your contract expires, charges etc., by hiding it amongst a jumble of meaningless links. I've just been trying to find out what the data charges for the past month related to but gave up after 10 mins of frustration.
I've taken out a new contract with O2 and what a breath of fresh air their website is, unbelievably superior. Everything you need is there in My O2 and so smooth and simple.
The Vodafone website was down for a few days the other week so I thought, at last they're changing it...but no, it's the same horror as before!
I'm relieved to be off anyway. Oh, and they've had my name spelled wrong since the start despite numerous requests to amend it!:(0
