its NOT!! a pawn shop they have just started this buy back scheme on pcs and phones before, this they were just a pc sales and repair store

I think you could have made it more clear in the original post.

I can understand your frustration with PC World though.

How many of the items do they have in at £120? if it's just a one off and most of their stock is one offs, they might say that they're not a 'retail store'

It gets difficult at times - doesn't it ? ;)

to be fair the OP did say "can't you read" in response to another poster who was trying to help him!

the product was not second hand it was new and they do have a store cant you read

OP - the bit in your avatar that says "Please be especially nice" applies both ways ...

If I'm nit-picking, I'd say they found it difficult to read your post as the lack of coherent sentences makes it difficult to follow.

As for PC World, you'll find a lot of people on here don't shop there, mainly due to their prices, lack of product knowledge, etc.

PC World is and in fact the DSG group in general are one of the biggest rip off merchants in Christendom, 20 quid for an RJ45 or USB cable yeah right. Dont shop there anyway 5 minutes on the internet will save you a hell of a lot of money.

The only place DSG deserve to be is a bankruptcy hearing - why anyone gives them any money is beyond me. I have a feeling it must be only the non tech savvy people - the ones who dont know what things are actually worth its the only reason anyone would pay their prices IMO.

my point is that the store i wanted to price match with was selling the product brand new in the box they put it on sale to sell them quick i saw that and went to pc world to compare the prices, now i use to work at pcworld and currys so i know what i can and cant do, i know the policy and with them to say that about the store in question is a pawn shop is stupid they are not a pawn shop they are a computer store hey just did not want a negative margin on there sales figures because the discount they would have given me would have gone against the stores margin is that service no i know im right they use to do it when i worked there so dont question me on there policys because i have there staff handbook at home

oh i dunno... Four years ago i needed a printer for CV's while looking for work; as PC World is quite local to me i nipped in to have a quick look and bought one of these http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=hp+1018&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=8349409022255872316&sa=X&ei=nUscTvnmBMmFhQeuvajaBw&ved=0CGEQ8wIwBA for under £40

and 4 years later i've just replaced the toner at a cost of £7.85 from eBay..

Exceptions to every rule i guess but generally speaking they are a complete rip off and staffed by the 6th form equivalent of Borat :-)

I use them for business and have had no real problems with them it all depends on the store you go into and also have purchased a few things for myself that I couldnt of got cheaper anywhere else, I wouldnt use the internet for reasons of fraud prevention so if it cost me an extra £20-£30 on a purchase of a few hundred I wouldnt care, as long as I know I am not open to fraud from buying in store !
