my point is that the store i wanted to price match with was selling the product brand new in the box they put it on sale to sell them quick i saw that and went to pc world to compare the prices, now i use to work at pcworld and currys so i know what i can and cant do, i know the policy and with them to say that about the store in question is a pawn shop is stupid they are not a pawn shop they are a computer store hey just did not want a negative margin on there sales figures because the discount they would have given me would have gone against the stores margin is that service no i know im right they use to do it when i worked there so dont question me on there policys because i have there staff handbook at home

so it was a sale price?

talking of sale prices, i can do you some full stops at a bargain price.

Exceptions to every rule i guess but generally speaking they are a complete rip off and staffed by the 6th form equivalent of Borat :-)

definately! although i do think they're ok if you know what you're talking about. You can go in and see if they're selling at a decent price and you know what you want.
I wouldn't recommend them to somebody who'll rely on them for advice though as some nerdy little oik will try and talk them into buying anything

as long as I know I am not open to fraud from buying in store !

Thats a fallacy, a dodgy retailer can just as easily rig their card machine as can a dodgy website rig their payment system.

so what about this part of PC World's policy
The product offered by the competitor's website is exactly the same as the one we sell, and is offered on the same terms

if it's a sale price it's not on the 'same terms'

No fraud can happen with cash, and business is paid via cheque !

the product was not second hand it was new and they do have a store cant you read

And if they don't purchase the goods from the wholesaler or manufacturer, they are not a retailer. Can't you understand?
