Just order for pickup at a Travelex location, in order to avoid a delivery charge.
There is no delivery charge! Ordered one last week and came very quickly.0 -

has anyone used a Barclays debit card to purchase this card? I know that Barclays charge a fee for buying currency on your card, and the travelex website warns that there may be a charge from the card issuer.0

I am not impressed.
I planned to use this card to get money in a country whose currency is not available on a cash passport. I learned from this thread that using it in this way would incur a hefty charge, but could not confirm this from their website (and I had a good look). I emailed them to ask, but they did not reply. Eventually I telephoned, and had a lot of trouble speaking to anyone, but eventually they confirmed the charge (more than five per cent).0 -

Can you be more specifc? Which country/currency? What is the >5% charge? I can't see anything alluding to it on this thread. Are you definitely talking about the TravelEx Cash Passport Globe card? If there's something I've overlooked, I'd like to know about it...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

You should be not impressed with yourself.
The Travelex Cash Passport GLOBE has completely different terms and conditions to the Cash Passport. There is no charge.
Did you actually view the T&Cs before posting?0 -

You haven't...it's just another mistake.
They are mixing the Cash Passport Globe with the Common or Garden Cash Passport.0 -

OK, I shall be using it in West Africa, where they use the CFA franc (XOF). Since you can't get a card in this currency, I would need to take one in a major currency but of course ATMs would issue CFA francs.
In order to enquire about possible charges, I followed the link on this thread to the Globe Passport website and used the telephone number given there. When I eventually managed to speak to a human being, I was told about the five per cent fee. There was no mention of any different cash card.0 -

The Globe card should be ideal for this... as it's denominated in GBP you won't be paying for two currency conversions, and you should get the Mastercard exchange rate with a 1.49% charge the only charge applied.
I'm not sure what the Mastercard rate is, as they do not publish a rate for this currency, but it's unlikely to be far from the spot rate.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
