With their method, there is no flexibility. He has to withdraw a fixed amount of times and certainly not make any purchases. Otherwise.....he might have an amount left over. :rotfl:
I pay for all meals and drinks in cash. I just withdraw €300 every few days or so and use cash. That's why the fairfx suits me.0 -

If you order your card via quidco you get 0.5% CASHBACK.
Is the same with topcashback0 -
I don't need correcting .....
Again, sorry, but your post is a complete waste of time.
Your main argument seems to be about budgeting in Euros.
For me, your argument doesn't make much sense. It is easier to budget in Euros with the TCPG. I explained why. You don't seem to get it.
Your figures are simply pie in the sky. Based on promotional rates and taking out 300 euros at a time from an ATM.
Your model doesn't involve any purchases on the FairFx Euro card.I like to load round multiples of €301.50 onto my Fairfx € card. I then withdraw €300 at a time which allowing for the €1.50 fee leaves me either at €0 or if I'm lucky €301.50!
So your figures are based on that exact model. Any variation and your model collapses. Sorry, but it is just nonsense.
If someone loads their holiday money on the TCPG, they will know how many Euros they have on the card. It will be more than you have.
Plus there is no charge for cash withdrawals. So they can withdraw as much or as little as they like.
With your model, they can only make cash withdrawals and only an exact amount. No variation. It's so ridiculous. It is not convenient, as it locks you down to a single pattern of behaviour.
Good luck to you. Perhaps it's a personality trait in that you need to do things in such an exact way.
But this is a money saving website, not an 'expose my idiosyncrasy' website.
Thanks for your input.0 -

!!!!!! give it a rest. Some people prefer other options, live with it.
Personally I don't understand why anyone would want any pre-paid card when there are much better options.

Irony at it's worst.
I don't care about other's options. It's when they try to present it as a 'convenient' option, when it clearly is not.
But your post is just silly.. totally contradicting yourself whilst pontificating.

Why? Because I show an alternative view to you?
I do get it. You forecast the rate for the next few weeks. Load GBP to purchase enough € to cover your spending and then keep a tally of what you've spent. You under estimate slightly to ensure you don't spend too much....I just think that is easier to load € and withdrawing chunks of cash? My choice. For me, your argument doesn't make much sense. It is easier to budget in Euros with the TCPG. I explained why. You don't seem to get it.
I mentioned the promotional rate because you used too low a figure. The NORMAL margin from MC rate to FFx rate is about 1.6-1.7%. This is not pie in the sky it is normal. As for making purchases, no I don't. Many people do not like to use plastic when on holiday, they carry enough cash for that days beer and food.Your figures are simply pie in the sky. Based on promotional rates and taking out 300 euros at a time from an ATM.
Your model doesn't involve any purchases on the FairFx Euro card.
Not nonsense... an alternative view, thank you.So your figures are based on that exact model. Any variation and your model collapses. Sorry, but it is just nonsense.
No they won't KNOW, they can estimate. Maybe, maybe not on having more €, the rate can change. If someone loads their holiday money on the TCPG, they will know how many Euros they have on the card. It will be more than you have.
You're the one here who wants to spend their holiday addng up in your head every time you spend and all for the sake of a few £. I agree it's a money saving website and my method is still a lot cheaper than most, I accept your way is cheaper still but some people want a simple approach as well.Good luck to you. Perhaps it's a personality trait in that you need to do things in such an exact way.

It is meant to be a discussion forum, your posts border on rude and are quite aggressive. You are dissmissive of other opinion (an opinion that doesn't even say there is anything wrong with your prefered card option but just shows that for a small extra cost people can lock their rate in before travelling and then budget in €)
Really think you need a check up from the neck up mate. You may know plenty of facts but you seem incapable of reading what someone else has written and what they are saying.

Sorry to interrupt, I just asked a question about this card in the cheap travel money discussion thread - there seems to be some good knowledge on here about it, would anyone be able to give me any advice on whether it would be best for my situation?
Travelling to Russia next Friday - looking to have access to around £100 worth of rubles in cash. I won't be making any big purchases.
Additionally i'm going to Canada in September - i'll be spending lots more (around 1k) - worth using the globe card for that too or are there any better options?
Thanks, and sorry

It's not even the cheapest, but he gets into a strop whenever anyone points out cheaper options. Anyone would think he had a vested interest in this card;)
He provides the occasional useful bits of info, but I CBA with the arrogant little t*** any more so he's in my ignore list now...0 -

It's the cheapest when it comes to PrePaid options.
We already know about the cheaper bank accounts and possibly cheaper credit cards.
Not everyone is eligible for them. But you insist on posting about them even when it is clear that the OP does not want to apply for a credit card.
I'm not sure why you are even posting on this thread, as you are not providing any information at all. You are just Trolling.
Do you think that you were the first to discover any of the aforementioned accounts?? :rotfl:
As to me being on your ignore list....you would never do that, for fear of missing info from someone who actually knows of what he writes.
Awaiting your vacuous reply.0
