Eggs, in the fridge or not?

It was many years ago, but at a store I was working in we had a visit by trading standards to check the weights of the eggs we were selling and they said eggs weigh less after being stored in the fridge, can't remember by how much, but just remember as ours were in the fridge during a very hot summer so they made allowances when checking.0

Theres an egg person at the stadium boot sale in Poole every Sunday. If you get there early enough they have Jumbo eggs which are usually double yolkers but they often sell out by 8am. They get them from a local farm apparently which obviously sort by size. Not free range though.mymerrywidow wrote: »in the fridge.

Always in the fridge. As others have said - there is a compartment for them so that is where they go.
Take them out before going to cook with them.laddujaddu wrote: »Also they said that you shouldn't be scared to eat eggs cos of cholesterol, as the amount in them will not make any difference to your blood cholesterol. Even yolks are ok.
Latest research confirmed that cholesterol in eggs is not damaging cholesterol in the first place, it is special kind of cholesterol that we actually need a lot. Egg is now superfood.
They keep changing their mind what they think is and isn't good for you constantly, so I just ignore them and eat what I want:D.0 -
Keep mine in the fridge but take one or two out in the morning if I'm going to use them later in the day.
M&S do extra large eggs which I've always assumed may be double-yolked but never bought them myself.0
