How do you cancel a cease request ??

I too was subject of an email in my spam folder saying there was a cease order on my account which I knew nothing about. Assumed it was spam but nonetheless contacted talktalk to check ,. They said that it was correct but could not tell me which company had requested this, nor could they cancel the cease order. Surely this cannot be right. I was told to contact BT Open Reach which basically dont seem to exist to general public and BT told me that Talktalk could indeed cancel this cease order request (which you would have thought they would have been happy to do, as presumably they would want the business). Thus having read all the flak about talktalk, I am beginning to wonder could it be they themselves who are trying this on, so that they will have to cut me off and then get me to sign up again at an increased line rental, call package etc. etc. Any ideas anyone0

One has to wonder who is doing these ceases ? I'm also amazed that a cease order can be placed without the actual customer being involved at all - but then again electricity and gas suppliers (or sales agents on commission) used to sign people up to their services without the home owner actually being aware of this... so it's probably the same dodgy sales people I suspect (having moved on from power to internet sales!)
