Hi AdamBrunt,
if you believe that TalkTalk are taking your line without your permission, it is possible to have us cancel the order which should leave you with a working service. This depends on how far the order has progressed, but it is possible.
Ady“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Talk Talk. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
If that is so it is very useful to know. I always believed what Spike has posted - once a cease order is in place it has to complete.
Let's hope it is true and future victims of TalkTalk slamming find your advice in time to stop the process. Of course unfortunately many don't realise until after the event.0 -

Once a cease/transfer order is placed if its a WLR3 order it can be cancelled as long as its before 4pm the working day before its due to go ahead . If its a full LLU order then it can be cancelled upto 4pm 2 working days before its due to go ahead. Openreach charge to cancel orders so this may be why companies might be reluctant to cancel orders.
There is no reason why op cant cancel order as well within timescales.0 -

It would be more helpful to address the issue of your companies scum bag sales people, so no more vulnerable people get taken advantage of.0 -

Especially as they have already been fined by OfCom for this "slamming" process and told to stop. I have advised my aunt to report the incident to OfCom and she was more than willing to do that.
Thanks for all the help people. It seems the problem is resolved and everything is in hand to cancel the cease request.0 -
And get your aunt registered with the TPS to prevent future cold calling (or at least reduce it).No free lunch, and no free laptop0

But will TPS prevent them from this slamming? - it sounded as though TT sales rep had already put this in motion regardlesss of what the end user said.
This behavious is attrocious and Ady from TT should be investigating how this can happen rather than just saying it's possible to cancel the cease.

It should prevent them calling in the first place.
They will argue that she consented to the transfer, without hearing the transcript it's her words against theirs unfortunately. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

understood....although I suspect some get cancelled / switched without any communication to the end users.
