Which BB ISP offers the best retention deals after your minimum contract is up? I'm on dial up just now and looking at getting BB but hoping to get a discount after my years contract is up.
Any recommendations or success stories?

I have never heard of an isp giving you a price reduction to keep you with them. Nowadays, there are plenty of isp's where your not tied down to a 12 month contract and even if you are, I'm pretty sure that you don't have to renew after 12 months for a further 12 months. They'll lock you into your 12 month deal at the beginning but after that your free to leave whenever you so like so have very little bargaining power. I think if you tried after 12 months they would just say "why would we give you a reduction in price when you could leave us tomorrow?"0

I'm thinking along the lines of mobile phone contracts where if you call the network provider and say your leaving to go to another network they normally offer you an incentive to stay and lock you into another 12/18 month deal with a discount.0

I have heard of cable companies do this sort of deal but, you generally need to be a customer of all their services - TV, Phone etc...0

I know what your mean, but it works with mobile phone networks because they know they're going to have your business for another 12/18 months. As I said, after your first 12 months, where's the incentive for the isp 2 offer you a discount as the only thing you could be able to commit to is staying on a monthly rolling contract.
The bottom line is that you won't get a reduction once your 12 months is up because your not singing a new contract, its not the way its done with the net I'm afraid. Or if it is I've never heard of it!!0 -

That may well be true, but I would expect that you would need to be spending at least £30-£40 or maybe even more a month for all three. And on the base packages they would only offer you what is now regarded as the minimum 1mb connection.0 -

Broadband by definition is 512k and upwards so the £14.99 a month 512k package is possible to get for £7.50? That's a good deal on paper, however, you get what you pay for in life and as everyone know's ntl are a bunch of idiots!!0
