The Westfield ain't harsh and the race prep'd Caterham I drove on a track day, that was softer than a standard Golf GTI.

In fact, my mates old (totally standard) 106 GTI had harsher suspension than the Westy..... But I do have version with the independent rear suspension, which does make a massive difference on the bumpy stuff.

I think baldrick was reffering to the fact that a big bloke like the author will have to have a race seat to have any chance of fitting in, and as you know that just an !!!! shape plate of glassfibre, now they are uncomfortable.

I've had 2 Westfields, both wide body irs models and both with redtop vx engines. Great on the track but comfortable as a weeked road car???, not my choice at all. And @ 6ft 3" I had to make serious changes, seat on floor, steering wheel ridulous dia and raised and offset, roof thrown away as only someone at about 5ft 6" could possibly drive it with the hood up:D

But my vote for the most harshest road car suspension has to go to the old Puegeot 206 gti:eek: That was the most bonecrunching car I ever drove bar none.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

It was happy medium the GF would have freaked if I had turned up in a Caterham so the BMW is a stop gap for a couple of years.

    Too true.

The whole point of buying something non mainstream is for just that reason.
It may be a nostagia car, a total 1 off a £10k car with the mind blowing performance of a £100k super car, a 3 wheeled trike or just something plain quirky,IE, we all chose for different reasons and so it should be. There really is no right and wrong.

Just try 'em out and buy what fits:T

Anyone on here had one, was thinking of saving up for one as I am nearly past middle age and need a hobby and have come to the conclusion that I will never own a 1969 Dodge Charger as a decent one is far too expensive.

Was thinking about the Classic but the Super Light seems a lot more fun...... any help or advice appreciated and yes I know in the rain its a cross between a tent and a motorbike ;o)))
