Caterham 7

Was browsing the web a few months ago and came across a car, went to see it and bought it. It's not a Caterham or a Triumph or even an MG as the GF did say that I'd be lucky to fit in to one of those but as I own a 1998 BMW e36 and wanted something with a history (old) and a rag top I went for this..............
fantastic little car to drive and always puts a smile on my face even when filling her up with petrol.
it's a 3.25i auto with a switchable gearbox, indigo leather and 81k on the clock ;o))))
Interior has now been removed and carpets steam cleaned, the leather has also been cleaned and conditioned and this car will be a work in progress.0 -

I feel I have to warn you that due the cars small size, people (especially 4x4 drivers) think they can push you around (or even off the road).
You get people trying to overtake you just to prove some stupid point.
You get abuse, flashing of lights and horn blasting when you overtake sleepy drivers.
They're so loud that people assume your driving like a nutter even when your driving well below the limit.
Kids gravitate towards them, which is never a good thing.
Be careful where you park, leave nothing in the car, some scum will even steal your car parking ticket and tax disk given half a chance.
To be fair - you seem to provoke those kinds of reactions in a Vectra too - how do you explain that?0 -

Well disregarding Stryders idiot magnet I have to agree with him partly because they do bring out adverse reactions from some other drivers, but largely they are so dam small they are as easy to miss (hit actually) as a motorbike.
They are also so quick that other drivers just do not realise their accelaration capabilities.
I know it an old thread but I still think the op needs to visit a good show and really see what's available that's as quick but slighly larger and more refined,I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Most fun I have ever had in a car was a Caterham bar none. But how anybody can suggest an E36 BMW convertible (which incidentally was possibly one of the worst cars I have ever owned) with a Caterham I don't know, they're day and night different!0

Its an E30 and a lot cheaper then a Caterham one day I will get the cash for a £14 weekend toy but not yet and this one doesn't scare the !!!!!! out of the other half.0

Caterham do rentals by the day or weekend so you can see if you like it - there's also versions for the less small be it height or width0

Only buy one if you have an amply padded posterior , if you are a Boney Butt be warned , the suspension is as hard as riding a plank. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

The Westfield ain't harsh and the race prep'd Caterham I drove on a track day, that was softer than a standard Golf GTI.
In fact, my mates old (totally standard) 106 GTI had harsher suspension than the Westy..... But I do have version with the independent rear suspension, which does make a massive difference on the bumpy stuff.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Many many years ago for about 18 months I had a 69 S3 with the big valve twin cam ..... I'd done a deal on a rally prep MGB GT.
Loved it but nightmare in winter and house purchase forced me to sell ....something I'll regret till I die
For anyone interested and don't know what it's capable of watch this vid of a westy cossy 2 up against a Yamaha R1 round Nurburgring

I will get there one day but as a hobby car the E30 is fantastic for now and the girl friend enjoys it somewhat.0
