  • I have got Nokia 2310 delivered at £13.60 with these codes...

    But its locked on Virgin.

I have browsed through 'Mobile Unlocking codes' on this forum and also googled a lot but it seems Nokia 2310 cannot be unlocked free and only my service provider can send me unlock code if I pay them charges..

    Any thoughts..

10.30am - just delivered - yesterday the site was saying delivery would be 2nd Jan, now shows delivery today

For info I ordered it 17.57hrs on 26th Dec

Debit Card Refund - Littlewoods Extr 25.00 - receipt

I called up and had an email saying that they were charging me the full amount and weren't going to give me the promotional discounts yet my bank account clearly shows I got this discount.

Can they still take the money back??

Yes they can. You agreed to the following (from their T&Cs) when you placed your order:

"Where you have redeemed a promotional code or any other offer against your order, acceptance of this order is subject to our verifying that the code has been issued to you personally, that you comply with all the terms of the offer and qualify for the code. In the event that the code has not been issued to you for your personal use or you do not comply with or qualify for the offer, we shall have the right to reclaim the value of any discount from you and the price of the order will be adjusted..."

    Just think that one through......

    - How long do you think they have until you think they can legally take the money?
    - Supposing I no longer have the credit card I paid for it with, how do they 'take the money' as I have a flexible account with LX Direct
    - As I have taken delivery of the product and paid for it, the transaction is complete.

I doubt that T&C will stand up in a court of law, once the product has been delivered. Even if somehow it did, after the 5 day cooling off period, I cant see legally how they could.

I paid for this deal on 27 Dec, the debit and credit came through on the same day. There has been no attempt by LX Direct to 'reclaim' what this T&C would like you to believe.

Well done for all those who got this deal, for those who did not, I know it can be frustrating (I missed enough leading up to Christmas), but another deal will be along soon and get out there and have a good new years eve.
  • This is just ridiculous that I have a receipt and email of purchase at £4.60 and they are charging more and didn't call me to cancel. I think I'll just take the phone anyway and see as I need a new phone.

    - How long do you think they have until you think they can legally take the money? 180 DAYS VIA A DEBIT/CREDIT CARD AND POSSIBLY ANY TIME UPTO 6 YEARS IF YOU'VE GOT ONE OF THEIR ACCOUNTS

    - Supposing I no longer have the credit card I paid for it with, how do they 'take the money' as I have a flexible account with LX Direct DEBT COLLECTORS OR FROM YOUR FLEXIBLE ACCOUNT??

    - As I have taken delivery of the product and paid for it, the transaction is complete. SUBJECT TO THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I doubt that T&C will stand up in a court of law, once the product has been delivered. Even if somehow it did, after the 5 day cooling off period, I cant see legally how they could. THEY CAN, BECAUSE YOU AGREED TO THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND YOU HAVE USED A DISCOUNT CODE ILLEGITIMATELY

I paid for this deal on 27 Dec, the debit and credit came through on the same day. There has been no attempt by LX Direct to 'reclaim' what this T&C would like you to believe. THEY'VE BEEN KNOWN TO DO THIS UPTO 180 DAYS LATER. THERE ARE THREADS ON MSE ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE.

It seems to be a matter of luck as to whether they will re-charge you the value of the discount code. I've ordered high value goods in the past using '10% off' codes found on the internet, resulting in UK's lowest price for one particular £350 item and have only occasionally been re-charged - this has always happened by the next Flexible Account statement date if it's happened at all, but some people I know (on MSE and off)haven't got away with it.

  • They have the right to reclaim the money , that does not mean they can just take it out of your bank .
They would have to write to you and reclaim the money .

That's my point. They cannot do that without giving notice. And if they do that, the phones going back, it's still un-opened.
