    Hi everyone,

I've been dashing round since I came in. I don't know what I can cross off on the list because I haven't looked at it.
I have however, written my frog list ready for next week. i am determined to do some frogs.
Off out tonight. A meal with friends :j
Need to straighten my hair again - it's been a hot day! and still have to paint my nails.

Not sure what to wear either 'cos it looks as though it may chuck it down.
Off to do another HHC, then get ready.
Enjoy your evening whatever you are doing :D

OOOH IT'S BEEN QUIET HERE TODAY...

oops sorry for shouting. Been to work but pegged out another load of washing before I went so that's dry and I've got it to iron now. I did yesterdays ironing at 10:30pm

been to Mr M's and bought a new mop (I store mine outside as I've nowhere sesible to store it indoors and I like them aired so they don't last long - might try storing this new one in the shed, where it might last a bit longer...) buut I have resisted the temptation to christen it :rotfl:

    beds stripped, aired and changed...

    that's it really...

    oh more emails unsubscribed from..

choccybix, embb and xxJoxx thanks for the hugs xxxxxx

Vivw welcome back - nice to see you - take it steady - you are retired now and have loads of time ahead - you dont need to do all the dclutterig in one go!! And stop being so hard on yourself - what you have done is just the start - be proud of what you have achieved - its more than last week isnt it?
SavingJane and debtfreebyxmas welcome to the thread - make sure you read post 1 & 2 thoroughly - and take it steady.
eta need to buy new kingsized duvet as the 2 i have on closer inspection are DISGUSTING! god knows where they have come from, but i wouldnt sleep under them if i had a choice so buying 1 new one and then can always purchase another when need to use the airbed.
I hope you havent been silly and thrown out these duvets thats not very MSE - stop wasting money on new stuff and get them cleaned - they launder up really well :money:- take them to a launderette and they will do them for you - or some of the dry cleaners do them too.

we are all very guilty of being a throw-away society and I am trying very hard to stop this habit - none of us can afford it.

Still need to do emergency clean before housesitting sister arrives at the weekend

hex just in case I miss you I hope you have a great holiday and try to relax and recharge your batteries xx - if your sister hasnt much else to do why dont you make a little list of minor jobs that she could help with? or is that asking too much of her?

pooh bad news about the carpet etc - - try the bottle and see if it has a customer support centre for cleaning tips - also a carpet specialist/maker - google for help- ask a decorator for the wall/ceiling - good luck xx

xxJoxx sounds like a good birthday - I agree with pigpen - tell the lady what needs doing in future and get her gardener to do it - if necessary write a list as her memory might not be too bad - or ask her if you could speak to the man on her behalf?? xx

Boddy good luck tomorrow - the weather has taken a bad turn again so wrap up well angel xx

I see there are a few feeling like they CBA well you will regret not doing anything in a day or 2 when things look even worse - get up off your bums and do something ....anything but go and do something. I will be fling mules and sending doses of get a grip if you are not all careful!!!

unfortunately I am not in a position to do any flying this week but have been doing as much as I can on my pc in preparation for getting stuck into frogs lists soon.

  • Minion really did fly in the end - her pit looks almost habitable, so her friend won't have to burn her clothes when she leaves tomorrow morning. Hoping I haven't set off whatever-this-allergy-turns-out-to-be, as I would feel really bad, as though I had poisoned her. Told her mum I would try not to :).

Beginning to flag a bit now, seeing as I have been awake for 40-odd hours now. Think I might try and persuade the ladies that they can handle feeding the splats, locking up and generally watching TV without needing my presence. That's if Minion would even notice if I were there - they're watching Hawaii 5-0 at the moment. Eye Candy TV:)

I have two posers for you interior design types this evening.

    1. I've got a style in mind that I think of as being French; dark wood shutters/blinds, primrose yellow walls, green leafy plants, wooden furniture and trunks with the occasional accent of deep colours, ethnic prints, leather, black trimmings, very warm but calm and welcoming at the same time. The Rodolphe Salis poster Le Chat Noir chat-noir-l1.jpg would tone well if in a walnut frame edged with a fine gilt line.

Does this style have a name?

    2. If someone were to use a light sagey-green in, say the landing main wall, but were to switch to an ivory in the darker stairwell (where there would be a few wooden musical instruments hung up and maybe a picture of say, Tintin Au Tibet that they just happened to have laying around), would that look good or pathetic? As the green would be emphasized by the red of the poster, the browns of the instruments, but the ivory would blend with the main wall downstairs. (which would lead to the yellow room on one side of the open plan, and a pale chalky blue on the other walls of the kitchen on the other end of the house)

Oh, and the upstairs bathroom would be a pale fawn/biscuit against a large expanse of white brick style tiling (like in the Metro), with brighter green accents.

Not sure if I'm making sense, but I sort of know what I have in my head, but very little ability to translate it into a coherent plan.

Another book that I can thoroughly recommend is "TIME MANAGEMENT FOR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS" by Thomas Limoncelli.

Although, as it's title suggests, it's aimed at office/IT types, the principles are perfectly valid for retired civil servants doing dog-sitting to retain their sanity!!:rotfl: You just skip the techie bits.;) It's a good laugh to read, too.:D

    Toots take it easy mate.

Hi all, well busy week at work, been concentrating on that and my Paleo diet, really pleased with the progress. Loads more energy and weightloss steady but sure. I feel better!!

Anyways tonight I decided to sort my food cupboards out, anyway, 13 bags of stuff decluttered to DD1 and her boyfriend, very gratefully recieved. 2 large binbags filled and binned and I can see what I have in my cupboards and have organised my pots, jars etc are in little ordered groups and I know what I have.

First time its been sorted since I moved here about 8/9 years ago.:D
