As discount codes are now more or less extinct, I'm looking for other options. I know that there are several (credit) cards offering lounge access and as we're flying fairly frequently at the moment I wondered if anyone has any tips on the best ones for a minimum fee bearing in mind that there are 2 of us so need a second cardholder option).0

You can usually pay for lounge access at those same lounges on a PAYG basis - unless you're flying and laying over/hanging around/long transfers in airports several times a year then turning up and paying cash may be cheaper.0

Thanks but I've looked into that but even at booking ahead prices for £15 each 10 flights in a year = £300, which is why I'm looking at something along the lines of an Amex card (£125 or if there's a better option than that as AMEX isn't widely accepted)0 -

Hmmm Priority Pass middle band would give you 10 visits per year. Might be worth considering how often you get to the airport with enough time to spare after security to make it worthwhile - I usually find on one or another leg I get so gummed up at passport control or security that I'd only actually have an hour or so tops. Some lounges are a tad disappointing TBH, it was nicer in a nearby 'pub' in DXB T1 than the lounge (I had a look round before paying) - they even charged extra again for the showers there.
That said if I'm transferring with a 4h wait and a quiet lounge, I'm in!0 -
I have a Priority Pass card with my American Express Platinum chargecard. I am planning on using the No1 Lounge at Gatwick South. I know you can in theory just walk up and show the Priority Pass to get in for free, but on the No1 Lounge website it says you can guarantee entry by paying a £5 reservation fee (they can refuse you if it's busy). Does anyone know if this £5 is worth paying or is there always plenty of space?0

If you have a Tastecard or Hi Life card you can get 2 for 1 entry, you can normally always find a free trial for both.
The current free trial offer for Hi Life finishes tomorrow for 6 months membership. (Details in the last post above).
