They knew you were bringing an infant but plenty of people bring babies and either put them in a travel cot in the living room or bring them into bed with them. I think you said you managed to fit a Moses basket into your bedroom so what was the problem?
And what if we had of not brought a moses basket?
Would you let a 3 month old sleep on their own?
Even better, would you let them sleep in bed with you?0 -

Haven are not to know what your preferred sleeping arrangements are. Yes,many people will want to be able to put a travel cot up in their bedroom, this is why it's explained in the brochure that you will usually have to put them in the living area. If this is going to be a problem for somebody, then they would be better off looking for a cottage or apartment. Caravan bedrooms are usually very small.
We first went on holiday with our first child when she was about 18 months and we made sure we had a cottage that had room for a travel
cot in the bedroom, as she often woke at night and she slept in a cot in our room at home. With our second child, we went to Haven when she was 11 months old and she slept in bed with me, just as she did at home.0 -
I agree with you.
The picture of the caravan we booked last year at Caister was so far removed from the one they tried to put us in.
They showed us another one(swapped with someone yet to arrive) which was just as bad. The caption said that the caravan would be no more than 3 years old,( if these caravans were less than 3 years old then they must have had a heard of elephants staying in them 52 weeks a year!)
We after asking for our money back were 'upgraded' to an emergency one which was just about acceptable.
I would never book direct with them again( even though they wrote us a letter saying that if we were to book again to ring them just before we went and they would ensure the caravan was suitable for us.)
Just can't be doing with all the hassle after a long journey, fighting to get what we have paid for.0 -

Sorry to hear and I know exactly how you feel. It's just unreal how haven are willing to take your money and pass accommodation off that isn't fit for purpose hoping that you will stay quite.
I'm just glad that I am not alone, and that this is a real issue for haven. I just hope that anyone who reads the thread will now think twice before booking with that awful company.0 -
I don't think anyone has the right to question a parents choices about where a child sleeps, lets just respect the parents wishes.0

To say that anyone who has their baby sleep with them is an unfit parent
as a statement of fact is wrong.
I have deleted my comments as they were inappropriate.
However, for us as parents and based on advice from professionals we do not feel it is safe or appropriate to have an infant sleep with us or sleep on their own.
I apologies to anyone I have offended. However I still stand by that it's havens fault and not ours.
Will keep this thread updated with what happens, good or bad.0 -
Hi Unhappy Camper,
I remember reading another thread about Haven. The OP had a raft of problems and complaints. It took them several letters and I think they had to take it to the top of the Haven board of directors, but they had a full refund in the end. I'm sure they will offer you a refund rather than go to court. But take it to that stage if they are stubborn.
I think its definitely worth doing a sun £9.50 holiday next time, we were upgraded on ours and were thrilled with the van we had, all for £78.
Good luck UC!
