can you see any network names when you click on the wireless network icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen (If you have it)?

Can you get to

http://192.168.1.1 wired?

If that doesn't work, try 192.168.2.1 or 0.1

Peer-to-peer (or ad hoc) mode is for connecting wirelessly directly to another computer. To connect to a wireless router you need to use infrastructure mode instead. In wireless network properties, untick the 'This is a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network; wireless access points are not used' box. If it doesn't allow you to untick it, add a new wireless network and then remove the old one.

Good day all. To recap I have got the laptop hard wired and connected, but still unable to connect wirelesly. The network stumbler says no aps active. And I cannot follow Chippies instructiions. Do you think it might be something really simple like I need to tick a box somewhere?

Do you not have the rights to follow chippies instructions create a new w/network? Can you browse/search for available networks ?

Or do you just not understand them ?
