Selfish my !!!!! ! :mad:passatrider wrote: »It makes my blood boil when I see cars parked on grass verges outside their houses churning up the grass. Why is it self centred ? I either park wholly on the main road and risk getting wing mirrors / car body dented or I park half on half off the road to avoid !!!!!$ hitting my car / van because im in the way.
And prey do tell what to do when you :
A) Have no drive to park on.
Have had numerous wing mirrors knocked off by drivers who cant judge distances, and then dont effin stop including one whan ker that put a nice v all down one side as he scraped his way past.
Comments like that really pi$$ me off.:mad::mad:You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

If the road isn't wide enough for you to park then you park elsewhere, that's what considerate drivers do.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I agree, I don't want grass verges I never asked for them and people think they can let their dogs crap on them !! I'd much rather it was tarmac-ed and made into a parking space !!
Pavements are not so simple and whilst I sympathise to some degree you still have to look at it from the wheelchair or pushchair pavement users perspective.
I get particularly p'd off with those who think it is acceptable to park with the wheels that are on the road as close to the kerb as possible i.e. as much on the pavement as possible without actually putting four wheels on it.
That said this is meant to be a money saving forum that helps people not a place for imposing morals on posters !!0 -

It IS wide enough for me to park on its a main A road approximately 5 -6 m wide !, its the !!!!!!! idiots that cant drive that force me to park half on half off the road because they cant judge gaps and keep twa tting the cars.
Heck ive even approached the council into putting in a layby for parking but because there is no safe way for me to turn around they wont do it.
Luckily I live at the end of the village and the grass verge is more of a bank than a verge so no one walks on it so I am not impeading anyones movements or access. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

If the road is wide enough then it is all the more ridiculous that you choose (yes choose) to not park there. It is not appropriate to behave in the way you are. If there is a problem with drivers not behaving properly then you also behaving badly is not the answer, two wrongs don't make a right!Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

What a load of tosh !!!
So what would YOU DO in my position then ? keep paying out for repairs ?
Let me put it this way : there is no where else I can park, some folks have the conveiniance and luxury of a drive, many in the village I live in have to park on the road AS DO I.
Yes I choose to park partly on the verge for two reasons firstly so I dont get the car / van damaged any more, and secondly it frees up another quarter of the full road width which allows drivers to pass more easily than having to stop because there are two vehicles taking up half the road.
If I wanted to I could park a further 5 yards up the road completely on the verge but in doing that I would completely wreck the grass and foot path, but I dont do that. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

Firstly I would park somewhere else entirely. You do not have to park outside your home. Other drivers may well also be behaving irresponsibly but that is no excuse.
There may be a problem with poor or speeding drivers which is a matter you should raise with the police every time it happens.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
