i thought it all went rather smoothly in our house this year all pressies were wrapped early, the house was clean all my xmas dinner prep was done xmas eve,a very stressfree event,i think as im getting older,i stress less thank god, roll on xmas 2007
:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:
  • I do love Christmas although it seems like an anti climax as being a teacher we have the decorations up for ages, children are all hyper, give out pressies on last day and then as soon as the children have left on the last day I wip the Christmas decs and tree down as quick as possible so that I can go home. Then realise when I get home that I still have more decs to look at and then take down after Christmas. I still love it though as the children I teach are still at the age when they believe in Father Christmas!

    Nooooooooooooooo!

I want another one tomorrow! And more presents!

I'm going to cook another Christmas dinner towards the end of the week....it's old English tradition to keep the 12 days of Christmas ie till Jan 5th or 6th, depending how you calculate it, and that's what I do. Festive goings on right until then :-)

I will be the first to admit IM BAH-HUMBUG!

Dont get me wrong, I never spoil the festive fun for other's around me, my kids have a great time and they never go without (at the same time they're not spoilt either). I awlays try to make the lead up to Christmas as exciting as I can for them, (as much as I can) and this yr I was introduced to the Santa Tracker, which helped also with my DD age 7. (I will admit - I enjoyed it also)

The tree, decs & lights go up for them - not me, if I didn't have children - they wouldn't go up, and as soon as Christmas has gone, they come down. Hope to get them down on Friday before the wk end.

I do my shopping through out the year, to avoid the Christmas rush in the shops. And who has the right to start playing Christmas songs in the Middle of November! told you Im Bah-humbug. :rotfl: Even had Carol singers come a week early (i told them to come back on Xmas day aswell as going next door as they are more festive than me - sorry DLB) lol

People forget what Christmas is really about, the birth of Jesus etc, now-adays its a big competition who got the biggest and most expensive toy. That I dont agree with.

Telly was great when we was kids, but those films are being re-peated, there is only so much of E.T i can take.

I dont enjoy the build up, and Im so glad when its all over. I dont stress over it now, like I did yrs ago, but then again my OH takes a lot of the pressure away from me (my EX use to leave it all to me)

I agree with Squibbs hubby, my son was born on a leap yr, he has his official birthday every 4yrs, why cant Christmas be like that! I can dream - lol

To those who are festive, I do hope you had a lovely Christmas
    HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!

I wish our bin men came on Thursday - we have had a note saying that they will not pick up stuff till next Tuesday (two weeks since last pick up!) and they have given us two quite small plastic bags as well and will only empty our bin if the lid is firmly closed!!!

May have to walk around with rubbish in plastic carrier and drop some off in every litter bin I see!

    Only joking - although?????????

Our wonderful bin men arrived this morning much to our surprise - they normally arrive on a Tuesday morning, and we thought we would have to wait until next week.

Our recycling chaps are due next Tuesday, but they only visit once every two weeks anyway.

I hate the leadup as it feels like it's been going for *ages* and it made Christmas come even slower. I hate the food shopping for it, but love the day.

Anything after Christmas Eve and Day is now an anticlimax :(
  • I wish Christmas lasted a bit longer. I don't have to go back to work until 9 January but OH went back last night and son goes back today. Its great when we're all at home together - nice to talk without one or another rushing here there and everywhere. ;)

Nope I love it and it's still going on for me. My parents are arriving today as we went to see DH's parents yesterday. Tomorrow I may take DD2 to the piccies, friday will be back to normal as I will have to take my parents shopping again but DH will be working on New Years Day which will take the shine off a little as that normally signals the end of Christmas for us.
