Of course, my main reason to be on here this morn is to boast about my pressie off my darling boys ..... I've got a kenwood slicer!!!! If you'd told me this time last year I'd want one of those I would've thought you insane, but now a lover of H/M bread it's the best thing - well, since sliced bread of course!!!!

    ***********************************************************

I have had slicer for quite a while, its great, ( I got it off freecycle) its great for slicing meat as well, makes it goes further....I allow my meat to rest for about half an hour and then slice enough for a meal, leave the meat to go cold and then slice the rest of the meat up, pack into cling film and foil and freeze to use later, very economical and you can very the thickness of the slices. I always make sure mine is NOT connected to power when I clean it by taking the plug out AS SOON AS I HAVE FINSIHED SLICING........I had a friend who cut the end off her finger because she did not unplug the slicer and then pressed the motor button when cleaning the blade....ooooooooouuuuuucccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

TKP - I think you made a freudian slip - I don't think you're quite ready for the diet.... stick an 'F' in front of your typo of 'eating' and you'll see what I mean :D

:rotfl: Is that where I am going wrong???? :rotfl:

Thanks for the link to the Hammy thread Dogrose. It was so funny. However, not so funny for me! Interesting that the hamster on that thread was called Cookie. Ours is called that too!

Anyway will now need to go to garden centre tomorrow for a humane trap.

    Hello again,

Crazychik - i know exactly how you are feeling, i fell out with my dad 3 years ago (over his wife, long story but i think most can guess the sort of probs with step mothers!!!) and apart from one letter, when he found out how ill i was, which i replyed to, he never got in touch again. However, even though he didnt like him, and knows all the bad things that happened whilst we were together, he still kept in touch with my exOH, even though both of them knew the problems it was causing in our family. Mind you, im sure its all the doing of his wife, but still hurts, just the same.

Anyway, having a lovely relaxing day today. Spent an hour in the bath with a good book, had a lovely lunch of yesterdays left overs, and the children have been playing lovely. Friend due about 4 with her grls, so that will be nice. So, at the moment im sat here with a snowball (why do i feel the need for these at Christmas??? the only time i ever drink it!!!!) and having a browse - because i can!!!!
Im really glad everybody seems to be having a wonderful Christmas, we are having a great time, and im so glad i have some time off work to spend with my children as well.
    Have a great day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy Christmas everyone, hope that you are all having a good day. Went to the sanctuary today as usual which was great. A few more people than they normally get on Boxing day so didn't end up walking any dogs(DH did though) got to do the litter trays, feed all the cats, feed the goat and groom the ponies(FANTASTIC) . Christmas day was nice. We went on our normal Christmas day drive(we go out very early armed with cheesey Christmas tapes, COSTO mince pies and a flask of coffee. We drive over to Derbyshire and watch the sun rise. Dosen't work for everyone but suits us. Then back I went to my local(ish) hospital to assist with taking patients to mass- however there were LOADS of people doing that(think more than the actual ammount of patients!!) So was on the ward generally trying not to get under the nurses feet!! Went round with the clix drink machine and took chocolates round. Was there for about 3 hours, DH had just got in when I got back he had a good at the homeless dinner(we were both going but had been advised not to go due to me not being totally recovered). We then had a nice snuggly day. Cats had extra treats and all in all nice time had by all. Have been a bit down as when I rang my uncle in NZ on Christmas Eve night he told me that my Uncle Noel had died about two hours preiviously. He was such a nice man, NOT in bad health and his death was totally out of the blue. Called my Aunt who was(naturally) in deep shock. Spent a hour trying to contact other family members. It is so sad, he was such a nice man. We(DH & I )dont have any close family nearby and I keep in touch mainly by phone, I spoke to my Uncle on the 20th-hard to believe really. Thats why this site has made such a difference to my life. Thats down to ALL OF YOU. For that I can only say Thank You.
