I'm in a bad boxing day mood. There's an absolute mountain of laundry to do, and nowhere to hang it. Later there'll be an absolute mountain of ironing to do. In my house if I take just one day off the washing I pay for it tenfold the next day.
And to make matters worse I've just seen the scorecard for the cricket.
Still, on the plus side I have a house full of food and drink:)
Lunch - leftover baked gammon, cheeses, pickles, coleslaw.
Supper - Christmas lunch hash
Cake, pudding chocolate, fruit
In-laws about to descend. Kids in a ferment of excitement at the thought of more presents.0 -

Morning all
Was planning to lie in bed for most of the day until I saw an advert last night for the Debenhams sale. So, although I had a late night (for me) I was up and in Debenhams at 8.00 am this morning. Picked up two designer outfits for my nephews' Christmas next year (don't shout at me. I like to be organised AND save money at the same time.) Also got two of my nieces two designer smellies hampers. All in all I spent £35 but got everything half price so I am well pleased.
TM :rotfl: at the thought of your leeeeesure suit! Please, please, please, post a pic.
dlb well done on getting three stars!
I think I got off lightly. No horrendous pressies this year. DD made me some slippers at school. I can't actually walk about in them (the sewing is dodgy and they are about three sizes too small) but I do sit with them on to make sure DD knows how much I appreciate them.
Well, I'm off to bed with a cup of tea and a good book. I don't intend to get up for a long time (DS and DD are with XDH for the next few days just in case you thought I was ignoring them!).
Have a great Boxing Day everyone. XXX"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Got a sore throat and feel a bit yuck todayAh well, had a great Christmas
Quiet day - 1 load for WM, leftovers for food
May go to the shops this week (still need a new wok), but i hate crowds, so the sales don't appeal to me...
Need to get back into the "new and healthy way of easting" (also called a diet) this week (tomorrow I start again). Lost 24 lbs in 2006, and want to lose another stoneSave the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0 -
Morning All - Well done DLB for getting 3 stars
Not much planned for today, still got headache. Think its the ear infection (ive still got after about 5weeks) which is affecting it. Looks like a trip to the dr's early new year.
Will try n pop to the sale at Wyndsors shoe shop. OH's mum is going to DFS for a new sofa, so Ive put in a request to have her old one. Ive not long had a suite, but its so small and hard to get comfy on. OH bort it on impulse. Cos it was cheap n nice! Bless him.
I found out last night that my EX took my kids to see my sister at the wk end, DLB can vouch how I feel about her, and if some of you read a previous post from me (poss last week), then you can understand how furious I was. I know its suppose to be a time of Good Will and all that. But Im sorry, I dont have any good will at all when it comes to her. Dont know what to do, he knows how strongly I feel towards her, and now he cant be trusted for fear of him doing it again! Shall I just just ignore it and hope it wont happen again, or shall I be firm and stop his access? Bit harsh I know.
Anyway, DW been emptied and loaded up, WM on again.
Time to get tidied up and nip out.
Take care have a lovely Boxing Day
Love as usualHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
DLB - congrats on your third star
TKP - I think you made a freudian slip - I don't think you're quite ready for the diet.... stick an 'F' in front of your typo of 'eating' and you'll see what I meanTKP wrote:

We had a lovely day yesterday - dinner went as planned, and I managed to semi roast a load of pots so when I roast the extra duck legs today we get a fresh batch of roasties... yum!
Finally got around to making that cheescake (with ricotta) and I have to say it is so simple to make - it'll defo be on the menu fairly regular
Of course, my main reason to be on here this morn is to boast about my pressie off my darling boys ..... I've got a kenwood slicer!!!! If you'd told me this time last year I'd want one of those I would've thought you insane, but now a lover of H/M bread it's the best thing - well, since sliced bread of course!!!!
Hope you all continue to have a lovely time (and ps - Lakeland limited online sale is now on - and tons of stuff for the craft makers)
Love and hugs,
Kaz x
Ps - crazychick - I cross posted (((hugs))) to you. I know how infuriating it is when they do these things - but I think they only do it because they know it annoys us. I hope he won't succeed in spoililng the rest of your Christmas time.January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)
Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now...Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.I will try to work it out.

Im still in my jimjams watching dodgy films on tv. Was totall shattered yesterday after having worked 24 hrs from Christmas Eve into Christmas Day and then spending time with my family.
Still, I will hop into the shower later and may well pop into town for a walk and who knows what else! The flat is looking relatively tidy, may well pop the WM on and the DW too but that's about all I'm good for today!
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Morning!
I'm booored - not for the normal boxing day reasons, but because i had planned to meet a friend in town for a little light sales shopping and OH has gone out with his dad leaving his car on our drive blocking mine in!!!!!!!!! no spare keys to shift it and no buses for me to catch
so im housebound grrrrr
suppose im stuck with the washing/ironing etc0 -
Hello everybody.:hello:
We had a fantastic Christmas day in the Pink house….the best bit for me was there wasn't a single squabble between the kids. Everyone was delighted with their presents and the food was good although the turkey was a bit dry thanks to Mr Pink being a tad neurotic about making sure it was cooked properly. He now knows there's a difference between cooked properly and cremated. It was quite funny watching him have more just to prove that it was edible.
This morning we had our traditional Boxing Day brunch….bacon, eggs, mushrooms tomatoes, potato bread, and soda farls complete with bucks fizz and crackers. Tonight we'll have a leftover buffet, so not much work for me in the kitchen today.
We have to build the trampoline this afternoon but I think I'll delegate that job and retire for a long soak in the bath. If it stays dry we might manage a walk this afternoon and I’m hoping to defend my title as last years monopoly winner this evening.
Kaz, I got a kenwood slicer too. Have you tried yours? I forgot to put the breadmaker on last night…so I’ve got no bread to slice yet.
Enjoy the rest of Boxing day everyone.
Pink0
