Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 10th July 2011

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Oooh!!! Can I join? The 'tenner here, tenner there' has really crept up, so need a kick in the bahookie! I'm going for £10. Low, but need a short sharp shock! This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
£10 pledge for me this week please - i was within my pledge last week but still spent more than i really should have as bought my lunch at work twice! tut tut. so if i lower it this week it may make me more determined! heres hoping.....LBM - JULY 2008 - Wage cut followed by redundancy made me realise how much i was living beyond my means.Debt in July 2008 = £30,049.59 / Debt today = £20,173.82 / Total paid off = £9,875.77 (32.86%)

Hi everyone, Happy Sunday!
Already stated I was red last week by *some* money - lost track after raiding every every spare penny I had stashed away everywhere to pay for my car to be fixed so gave up as I knew I was well over!
This week I am pledging no more than £40 please.
Thanks for doing the thread PP - must confess I thought it was my week to start... shall I do next week?
Have a fantastic money saving week all
LC xx

hi pp,
my pledge last week was £15, so i think i should be green on your first post as i only spent 11.76!
defo hoping to spend less than that this week x LBM - JULY 2008 - Wage cut followed by redundancy made me realise how much i was living beyond my means.Debt in July 2008 = £30,049.59 / Debt today = £20,173.82 / Total paid off = £9,875.77 (32.86%)

So I somehow managed to stay within budget last week and did only spend £28.80
I'm going for £20 this week. I've been organising myself and written a daily budget breakdown in my diary: £7.20 for train tickets, £5 for Next account, £6 for a taxi, £1 for a lottery ticket which will give me a little left over for little emergency cups of orange juice at work too :TPaying off the overdraft:
End of April= -£500
Today= -£4550
