An elderly friend gave me a bottle of sparkling grape juice - unfortunately it had a use by date of August 1995!!It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0

DH got me (as a joke) a mrs christmas festive bra and pants - sort of red fur with white fluffy edging.
We got an eagle perched on a log from MIL not a real one it is a sculpture of some sort. It reminds me of eastern bloc countries before the fall of communism. Havent got a clue where to put it.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!
To avoid all evil, to do good,
to purify the mind- that is the
teaching of the Buddhas.0 -
My elderly aunt gave me a size 22 bright orange jumper. I wouldn't mind so much but I'm a size 14 and I remember taking her to the shops a few weeks back when she bought it for herself to go with a skirt. We looked everywhere for a jumper in that particular colour! Obviously it didn't look quite right when she got it home......! Bless!0

From my MIL this year I received a slightly chipped necklace-and-ring holder in the form of a 'ceramic' Edwardian lady with wires instead of arms and head to hold the articles
.
I suppose she's starting to get rid of things that have been cluttering up her cupboards for years. :rotfl:. Now I have to write a Thank You letter :undecided0 -
arent MIL's the best !!My MIL got me a mug which said "Chocolate Pig"
mine normally gets me socks... with various phrases on, liek 'cheeky cow' with picture of said cow, then last year it was ''pink pig' again with picture of said pig on... this year i had to stifle my laughter while i was 'tearing' at the wrapped up socks paper... only to find... blue stars on them !!! finally they like me....
well she did write in my b'day card 'what did we do to deserve a DIL like you xxx' which i knew instantly they meant it the other way round !! face like a bag of sour prunes when i gave them their presents !!! o how i laugh.0 -
I got tickets to see the footie for boxing day with my BF - nice of him to include me but it wasn't my kind of boxing day (although I did enjoy it) - he did get me loads of other nice stuff though0

My mum gave me vouchers (fab!) but also gives us little stocking fillers, this year she gave me a tube of self tan corrective cream. I never use self tan so I was abit suprised!
Another funny thing she gave me was a book "Things to do while waiting for your computer to download" In it were loads of suggestions for things to do in approx 60 seconds, including making tons of creative things with floppy disks (I don't even have a floppy drive on my laptop so no floppy disks!)
Bless her! LOL
