    Lucky thing :D
  • I hated every single one of my presents  The *highlight* of them has to be the worlds naffest calander that was a free gift with something. Straight to the bin with that. And the MIL got me a load of smellies that I wouldn't even wash the dog in.

I asked for Amazon vouchers but oohh no - I have to be bought *real* presents as vouchers are not suitable as presents apparently

pah - I would really rather they didn't bother at all and am plucking up the courage to say that :D

Gosh, this thread has made me so grateful for my relatives, bless them. My mil has given me Amazon vouchers as she did for my birthday 3 weeks ago :j She loves a book token herself so she never feels that a voucher isn't a real present. Needless to say I've spent them already. OH and my parents have given me books I wanted too.

My MIL has given me some vile presents over the years, but this year I was blown away - I was given a new oven glove and tea towel but she gave OH the money for a new cooker! Awwww!

I brought my OH some Jelly Boobies, he thought these was great, he'd never seen them before, obviously led a sheltered life then :rotfl:

DH moans every year that he wants something useful or else that he does not want anything.

This year he had loads of socks and boxer shorts and a new pair of p.j.s that are the long sleeved tee shirt top and jogging or lounging type bottoms.
I bought him similar p.j.s last year and he gave them a very funny look as he is used to traditional and old fashioned jimmies!

Now he realises how much easier they are to put on and how "It looks better when I open the door to the postman!!" He is a very happy bunny.

reading the above i've had to chuckle. went to my DH's parents for crimbo- he has a very big family so every year MIL organises a wish-list for everyone. every time something is bought for someone she then ticks it off the list. that way they all get exactly what they want. bless her she also has fantastic taste so we all get extra bits and pieces too- had a cashmere scarf, a bed-tray and a book as well as the stuff i'd asked for. DH has also surpassed himself, though my brother missed the point a bit: he bought me a desk darts game- i don't have a desk job, or, in fact, a desk and i hate darts...
