I got some fantastic presents this year for which i am very grateful. However....i knew instantly the effort my dad had made when he gave me a FAT MONITOR!!!!!!
He is defending himself saying he saw them in the £ shop and thought i'd like it. I'm only a 10-12
Forgot to add.... Mum asked me yesterdaay if i remembered everything i'd got. I reeled the list off and she asked if i had got any jewellery... No i replied at which point my dad ran upstairs and came down with 3 more presents he's forgotten to give me.
Mum's not happy as there was about £100 worth of jewellery! Oh well they were my boxing day presents lolLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
best present - a bottle of ghost deep night perfume which is absolutely gorgeous.
worst present - a pregnancy testing kit complete with one condom stapled to the box. don't want to sound ungrateful but how bizarre!. i don't have a partner. not been near a fella for a bit longer than i wish! got no intentions of making anymore babies and the staples made holes in the condom.
still perplexed by it!!!!!I'm not a "SINGLE" mum, I'm a "DOUBLE" mum!:D0 -
What a fantastic thread! It's made me feel much better about the heap of stuff I'm planning to take back this afternoon:
M&S nightie (MiL) - nasty, plus I don't do nighties
M&S "family organiser" calendar (MiL) - is this a hint for grandchildren?
Boots old-lady floral toilet bag, complete with old lady floral toiletries (MiL)
Boots old man shaving set for OH - he uses an electric shaver! (MiL)
Denby mug set (SiL) - don't fit under the "tap" on my new espresso machine so will never get used.
All my presents from OH were fab, he did well.0 -
Worst present? A chocolate fondue set.......it's sitting in the pantry next to the chocolate fondue set I received last year!:D"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0

But chocolate fondue is a fab way of eating fruit!! Yumm! My kids love it.
I got no rubbish presents this year at all - which makes a change! OH usually nips to the local corner shop on Xmas Eve and buy me a chocolate orange - and I hate them!
I buy bits for me and give them to him to wrap - that way I know I get what I want... and he chose well this year0 -
I was really spoilt and got lots of lovely presents.
The funniest present i got was from my MIL. She had wrapped up a selotape dispenser and a half used roll of sellotape.
She has been looking for it for over a week and thought someone had stolen it. Not realising she had wrapped it up and put it in my bag of goodies. She couldn't stop laughing when i told her.She did buy me a lovely set of goodies from Gatineau ans some Molton Brown body wash that made up for the odd gift. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0 -
My MIL got me a mug which said "Chocolate Pig" with a picture of a pig ... least I know what she thinks of me now!!!

I am over the moon with everything i got this year. Even my OH and MIL got it right for a change. Though i did end up with 3 watches this year ???? Ppl must be trying to tell me something? LOL :rotfl:In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.0

My pressies were great - apart from MIL!! She gave son money (lovely & appreciated) but also a mug with a kitten on & foam mice (he is 12!!). OH & I got two "faberge" (sp?) style eggs on bright gold legs which open (so NOT anything I would buy - & she has seen my newly decorated house, new furniture etc & must have thought it lacked "something"! LOL) Plus! A lovely urn with a lid (BIL said could put cats ashes in it 18 now & not long for this earth!).
Oh well! Put them in the cupboard, havent got the heart to give away!
I also got a very strange candle holder from my niece (8) who chose herself bought with her own money & was so excited about! Naturally I will keep it as its full of love & her face was a picture when she visited today & I had a candle burning in it! Bless!
Dontcha love christmas & families!!!! :rotfl:NEVER ASSUME! :rolleyes:0
