I'm also looking for a new pay-as-you-go mobile on o2. My old Samsung flip phone died on Christmas Eve and I'm looking for something similar. If I had known then what I know now . . .

I got Nokia 1600 for 19.95 [need to topup 10 quid] from CPW.
As a whole for a basic use this is a FANTASTIC phone...0 -
My DDs 6111 from Dialaphone was not locked to any network when we got it. I've just tried a different sim in it and it works fine.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0

Would you consider a contract phone which gives you 100% of the line rental back as cashback? I know that many folks hate this idea and sometimes finding the cash to pay the contract each month is too hard.
I have used these deals since 1998 and have never gone wrong. Just bought my parents 2 new mobile contracts for Christmas. Admittedly I have to pay £35/month per contract, but I get it all back within the 12 months. For that they each get a slinky new Nokia mobile on Vodafone with 500mins to any network anytime of the day and 200 texts per month. And if they don't use them all up the balance rolls over to the next month.
Martin has a sponsored link [always these where possible ;-) ] on this article on his main website:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1122310650,23242,
The deal works like this:
I pay £35/month which is £420 over the 12 months
They send me a cheque for £84 in month 4, month 6, month 8 , month 10, month 12.
They divide the total paid (£420) by 5 repayments which means that you get it all back in 5x £84 payments.
But I know that it isn't for everyone, so I am only floating the idea.
You can also get cheaper monthly contracts on the same principle.

Coolhandluke - If your question is directed at me, then try this:
* Go to the URL that I posted above
* Click on Martin's link to OneCompare
* Click the blue area on the right hand side of the screen (12 months free)
* Look at the Nokia 2610 with Vodafone from CoolNewMobile (as an example)
For an even better deal, get over to Quidco.com and use their tracked link to CoolNewMobile. If you complete the deal online you'll get £35 cashback from Quidco, plus the full line rental back from CoolNewMobile.
How cool is that? Getting paid to buy a mobile!
