What, such as post on here? What makes you think just because you're elderly that you shouldn't read the small print?
It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?

I had a phone call last year asking if Id like a free pair of tights - I said yes. I received and wore them , then i got the package some time later ( cant remember the exact details of items included) I did see that they were going to continue to send them on a monthly basis and that I would be billed. However I had only said yes to the initial offer of one free pair of tights, and i considered that the subsequent package was unsolicited.
I have worn one of the pairs and they were not bad tights I admit , however i do not see why I should pay for this stuff I never asked for in the first place.
I have a letter now "this is the fourth time we have written to you blah blah blah" ............"The £13.36 you still owe may seem like a small amount to you . However it places you in jeopardy of being placed on our database of Bad Debtors, which could affect your future ability to obtain credit with us."
If I don't pay up , is being on their database of B.D's such a price to pay? or is there a veiled threat lurking there.
The £13.69 I still owe DOES NOT seem like a small amount to me and that is why I dont intend to pay it.
As for previous comments where people say you deserve this hassle from Silkies if you dont read the small print - why the hell should you? Why should an elderly lady have to take the effort to put on her specs to read it ? I for one have got better things to do with my time.

    hmm.....................
  • I was recently contacted by phone & asked if I would like to recieve a free pair of tights by silkies. I recieved the sample. Then I didnt hear anything for a few weeks. Then I recieved a 'silkies starter pack' which included 3 pairs of tights that I hadnt chosen, a free pair of trouser socks & worse of all an invoice asking me to pay around £13.00! I did not order theese tights & was very dissapointed & worried about the charge. I was worried as I am going for my mortgage & feared if I did not pay it may go on my credit rating. I imediatly wrote to silkies & sent the package back in perfect condidtion. I was lead to belive I would just recive a free sample & was not made aware that by doing this I would be sent more tights & expercted to pay. This is a cheek , they even try to charge you for the postage !
  • They sent some to my Mother a while back (she didn't request them), she sent them back. They then sent some more stuff and invoiced her for it (grrrrr)

I phoned them and informed them of the above. I must admit they were helpful and apologised.

I am not sure how they get away with it though...
