Hi, haven't read the whole thread but my daughter also had this. Teacher A worked Monday and Tuesday and both teachers A & B were there Wednesday and teacher B there Thursday and Friday.
They are excellent teachers and have helped my daughter achieve good levels this year.
Try not to worry, to have the benefit of 2 teachers and 2 pairs of eyes can be a great advantage x0 -
We had it for a year with one teacher working mornings and the other afternoons. It didn't really work for us, and it was the only year where DD struggled to make any kind of advancement. Probably more to do with the skills of the teachers than having two teachers though.0

DS2 had 2 teachers in year 1. It didn't work, mainly because one of the teachers became pregnant and was continually off sick with pregnancy related problems. There was a brief period of relative stability then she went off on maternity leave. All the days off were covered by a series of supply teachers, and a different teacher covered her days for the last few weeks of term. He was happy enough and not fazed by it, but I kind of regard that year as him being child-minded rather than educated

My daughter had 2 teachers in Year 1. The teachers sang from the same hymn sheet and had a long handover each Wednesday lunchtime. The children thrived. Teachers should be able to work part time like everybody else, and as long as its planned I can't see there being a problem. A happy teacher makes for a happy classroom.0

They will be starting Year 2 and have been told they will be taught by job share - 1 teacher 3-4 days and 1 teacher 1-2 days. My initial reaction was not good as did not want them to be receiving this type of teaching.
Has anyone come across this with their child at school? How did they get on? Was there consitency? Did it work well? Pros and cons please?
I am on the wall on this one....

I don't see the problem.
They are exposed to different teaching styles, they learn to adapt to different environments.....surely thats a good starting point for life in general.
For most of my education I have had two teachers for each subject. English I had Mr C and Mrs V, Maths I had Mr D and Mrs M etc
It was enjoyableMoney money money.

It's perfectly reasonable that the teacher may have a disability and therefore an assistance dog, isn't it?
Well yes, obviously !!
But it states
"And this year coming in secondary school, one of the classes will have two members of teaching staff in the class at any one time - the teacher and her Assistance Dog"
Or can Dogs teach class now too :cool:Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais

My daughter had this in primary two the teachers were job share so one teacher the first half of the week and the other the end of the week and to complicate it more a different teacher on a Wednesday. I'm sorry to say I think it was a total disaster and did not work at all.
Same experience here

Hi
We have had only positive experiences of job-share teachers. Another huge advantage is that when one is off our children normally get the other "half" to cover. It is a small school so the job shares often step in to other classes when there is an absent teacher there. This means that there are no "strangers" teaching and they all know the pupils. This can be a lot easier when your children really don't cope with change very well and new faces can take a lot of getting used to.0
