Girls next year have 2 different teachers for the one class

Aawwww thanks for all your positive replies, I feel so much better about it now! Their current teacher has this PP time but was not sure how 2 teachers would work together well etc. I will draw on the fact that if both teachers work well together and have discipline etc then they can both bring their individual strengths. One is returning from maternity leave and the other is a teacher joining from another school.
Thanks for all your reassuring replies!!:beer:0 -
My DS1 had a jobshare in P2 and P3 (different teachers) and it was very good for him, although I thought one of the P2 teachers was very poor. DS had a jobshare in P3 and imo it was a disaster. Both teachers are great teachers,m they had been my DS1's P1 teachers and the good jobsharer from his P2 class, and I had been delighted DS2 was getting them. But they also have a senior role in the school, and in some weeks because of other duties the children were having four or five different teachers in their class. At parents' night, I felt as if they didn't really know my child, and his abilities and I know that I was not the only person with concerns about it.
So in short I would say its great if their only role in the school is as class teachers, if they have any sort of management duties, I wouldn't be happy about it at all. But maybe the headteacher at your daughters' school is better at her job than ours. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Completely agree with this.
DS3 in Year 4 at present started the year with a job share of the deputy head and another teacher; they also swapped classes for set maths work each morning so another teacher and had a different teacher one day a week for PPA time! Then job share teacher fell pregnant so that has been covered with supply and the deputy has lots of other roles to play so is not there at least once a week - another supply will cover that. Add to this a very difficult child in the class who turns violent and the entire class has been evacuated for safety on many occassions and you can see it has not been the most stable of years! The TA has been consistent and wonderful throughout (and of course on the lowest wage:(:()The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Approximately twenty five years ago I was taught by job sharers, one morning and one afternoon. Despite being a rather difficult child I did very well at school that year, and my parents - both qualified teachers - were very happy with the arrangement. I don't remember any detail but both teachers had the measure of me very quickly, which is more than can be said for the full-time disaster that taught my class the year before! Throughout my schooling my parents trusted, communicated with and supported the staff, if you do the same I am sure any problems can be nipped in the bud.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Hi OP like yourself I too was worried of this when my son had two teachers in yr2. My concern was that he was a sickly child and had many days off in Reception and Yr1. Also how my son would feel about having to explain to two teachers his absences etc.
I was pleasantly surprised how well the teachers worked. Both were part-time mature teachers ( one has since retired now) and had one TA. They were a great double act and I found both very approachable. The TA was great and dealt well with parents.
My boy did ask if they lived together as he was told by one he would be missing play the next day, and the next day the other teacher kept him in.sealed pot chellenger no992Total for 2011= £198

this year ds has had 3 teachers and he really seems to enjoy it, he's in year 5 and the reason they have 3 teacher is because each teacher has a specialist area so they get a bit more of a high school kind of teaching.
We have this arrangement in my DD's school. She has her class teacher the equivalent of 3 days a week, separate French, art and music teachers and another teacher covering the PPA day. It works really well, the children get used to the different way teachers interact with the class and, as you say, it prepares them for high school.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

And this year coming in secondary school, one of the classes will have two members of teaching staff in the class at any one time - the teacher and her Assistance Dog.
Did you really mean to write this ? or does it mean something im missing ?Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais

It's perfectly reasonable that the teacher may have a disability and therefore an assistance dog, isn't it?0 -
I've been in a class with more than one teacher and after the novelty wore off, I would've said it was the same as having one teacher. Both of them had different things we were working on so it wasn't a case of one coming in halfway through a subject and not knowing how far ahead we were.
We were also able to cause mischief knowing that the teacher was unlikely to remember the threatened punishment after her two days off!Thank you competition posters!
