1. Take ourselves off somewhere private until we calmed down to think straight.
2. Fly financial advisers / accountants etc out to make sure we were dealing with it properly.
3. No publicity.
4. Work out who we want to help - family & friends
5. Work out what charities we want to donate large chunks to.
6. Find a big house / estate to run and create jobs.
7.House must be near to private school for kids so they don't have to board but can get best education.
Otherwise get down to really enjoying life and working our way through the 'bucket list'.
Keep dreaming!0 -
Some of you are all so kind.
I'd make a new will.
then make plans to build an idyllic piece of land with lovely sea views on the River Clyde so that I can build my own eco house, it would need a good bit of security too and a big garage, a swimming pool would be good but I can just use the local gym instead. I'd have my own house and a couple of smaller houses adjacent for friends and family staying, there would also be a panic room built into the house.
My cars would include a porsche, an aston martin/bentley(not decided), then there is muscle cars, chevy camaro, ford gt shelby, and i'd also have at least one 4x4 for all weathers.
Holidays would include NewYork again, Miami again - season ticket for the Miami Dolphins American Football, i'd also get a box at my football team in Glasgow. We have family in Australia so go and see them, visit south of france where some of my family originate from.
But most of all to pay off my debts and families debts as well as securing a few friends lives too. I have a syndicate with one of the guys I work with for the normal lotto, so i'd give him some, maybe £1m and a couple of other mates there, £250k-500k.
I wouldn't give up my job but it would be good to tell the boss where to go to when he asks me to do something else other than my main duties - if I said no not alot he could do. If I did give up my job i'd open up a shop, maybe turn it into a chain!!
Then lastly I'd throw a party for money saving expert stalwarts and have Martin as compere for the evening!!! heheThanks to all the competition posters.0 -
i'd dissapear untill i'd figured out what i wanted to do, but i wouldn't tell anyone0

If true to form, it'll be won by an elderly couple who 'won't let it change our lives'. She'll still carry on with her cleaning job, he'll still carry on at the factory, they'll both still go to the bingo, and they won't move out of their little council house, because 'this is where all our friends are'.
Oh, but they might treat themselves to a new car - maybe one of those little Toyota Yaris's, and maybe a holiday in Blackpool,
:rotfl:

I would go abroad to think it over. Then invite my bank manager over and tell him to !!!! off (RBS) and spent some on my family and friends and giving to charity throughout my lifetime!
Or on the ticket i won last week, pay for a part of my lunch (£2.80) Yeah!0
