I've already had the local breastapo on the phone bullying me about breastfeeding, are the NCT nicer to deal with? I'm not sure any support would have helped with DS1 tbf, he was such a hungry baby I had him on baby rice from about 8 weeks!

    Xmas Saver!
When I had a brain I used to have it all in there and never needed to write it down anywhere! I really miss my brain!

Baps will be employed to start with :D I only managed about 6 weeks with DS1 so I'm contingency planning lol

You managed better than me, I only managed 6 days, wouldn't mind I have a bust that is more Dolly Parton than fried eggs, but unfortunately they were full of hot air, so DD had to be bottle fed then. xx

    Morning all!

Finally got a decent nights sleep last night! I think it was due to the relief of knowing I've only got a UTI and I'm not actually going into premature labour!

Hi Abba! Just hoping that this lbm is the one that stays on lol!

Well its payday today, so I'm off to pay the mortgage and the council tax and then I'll be back!

Riiiiiight, mortgage and council tax paid. Hopefully got direct debit for mortgage sorted so I won't have to go through this fuss next month! Don't trust the council to get a direct debit right so will continue to pay them via internet banking.

DH got a nice chunk of overtime in his wages today, which was a nice surprise, so I've shifted that to a savings account and we'll decide what to do with it this evening. I'm thinking probably plaster the bathroom ceiling or get the car serviced...oh the excitement, we know how to live!

Feeling pretty positive about all things debt at the mo. Yeah the numbers are REALLY scary - but I'm glad I'm finding them out. Yeah, there is always some demand on our cash - but we're getting better at managing it and preparing for it. The balances ARE going down, slowly but surely - everyone knows its the tortoise that wins the race, right?

Hi Hovel Lady :) thanks for popping in, us tortoises have to stick together!

Have had a lovely weekend, just me and DH, as DS was at his dads. Think the anti-biotics have kicked in so I'm feeling much brighter and more relaxed and therefore managed to sleep!

Only bad thing about this weekend was that DH, when up in the loft finding baby stuff, decided to stick his foot through the ceiling.... so that bit of overtimeI had stashed away will be used to pay the insurance excess *sigh* and it means that we'll be sleeping in the living room for a bit longer *even bigger sigh*

Must crack on today, got lots of washing that won't do itself and I have an urge to clean the oven which I really ought to comply with! Looking forward to Thursday, seeing the midwife and get to hear bubs heartbeat again which is just awesome :D I think he's had a growth spurt because I'm starting to feel actual features like elbows, knees and feet - slightly weird but so cool lol :D

Ooo I'm a tired Poohbear today! Just want to eat hunny and fall asleep under a tree lol!

Unfortunately, the budget isn't going to stretch to honey this week :( so a big bowl of shreddies will have to do!

I think I've OD'd on looking at figures and budgets and my head is now completely swimming and I haven't a clue where we are! Haven't had any more balances through, really ought to chase that up but my get up and go has got up and gone! All the bills are paid for this month so maybe I'll have a few days off.

DS had his taster day at Big School yesterday, unfortunately not at the school that he will eventually go to but he enjoyed the experience, especially the science lessons with the bunsen burners - he's a pyromaniac in the making lol! Must ring the other option school to see if they'll be doing anything similar. Also need to get him booked onto swimming lessons starting in September as he doesn't get them through school next year. Its about £50 a term but definitely worth it, especially living as close as we do to the sea and he's talking about learning to surf!

DH came home all stressed out yesterday, he's got a pretty mental job which fortunately he loves - but it was a big green monster stress out yesterday bless him. He's the only one in his department who isn't going on holiday this year and as he's saving all his leave entitlement for when the baby arrives he won't be getting a break at all so he's feeling a tad under pressure I think. I'd really love for us to go on holiday, we haven't been away together ever and our honeymoon was a night in a B&B in Falmouth a year after the wedding! Hopefully next year we can find some space in the budget to save a few pennies and get away for a week or so in the summer. Just something else to add to the daydream list!

    Mmm daydream list.... project perhaps?

I've been giving this Daydream List project a bit of thought, trying to cheer myself up a bit more than anything. Have been in lots of pain with various pregnancy related issues and I think ye olde depression is starting to creep back in (have been unmedicated for about 9 months) - unsurprising really considering I'm pretty much housebound, getting out of bed is near enough impossible some days and the house is a pig stye with all the building work and I'm just struggling to manage it at the mo. Past few days I haven't even been able to stand up for long enough to do the washing up :(

Anyway, Daydream List. At the moment my daydreams are:-

    1. Clear debts
    2. Pay off mortgage
    3. Find and buy our "forever" house
    4. Have a family holiday
    5. Have a "real" honeymoon with DH (poss after renewing our vows?)
    6. Have savings of at least six months income
    7. Get a job that I love (easier said than done; I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what I want to do with my life)
    8. Get a degree (relative to whatever I decide to do in point #7)
    9. Help DH set up his own business (more his Daydream than mine, but definitely something that he would love)
    10. Be able to afford to help both our boys to buy first car/house/go to uni/get married/set up in business; whatever.

Thats about as far as I've got but everything on that list is pretty big... huge in some cases! Not even completely sure how to start planning most of the things on that list! I guess we're kind of on the right track by trying to pay the debts off sooner rather than later though, that'll be a good habit to get into especially for attacking the mortgage.

My little sister was talking to me about a similar list that she made when she just started out at Uni - she had plans like earn £40k a year; spend some time working outside of Cornwall; get a masters degree; move back and buy a house in Cornwall - all things that she wanted to achieve by age 40. She achieved every single thing on that list before her 26th birthday. She's a determined little mite. Think I'll show her my list and see if she can help.

Sounds daft, but I know exactly what my problem is and why I let things stagnate so much. I struggle with motivation. I just can't find it! I always figured it was part and parcel of depression, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe its more than that? Maybe I'm just too comfortable being in "coping mode"?

Mmm, more food for thought. This diary is becoming really useful!
