Well I didn't scoop the jackpot last night (didn't even buy a ticket lol) so I'm still here!
Had a statement through from the car finance people yesterday, which I'm glad about but I was WAAAAAAY out with my balance estimate! Instead of £8k, its over £11k!! Plus according to the statement they've been adding on 38p a month in "late payment interest", erm !!!!!!? We pay by direct debit that was set up when we took the agreement out so DH has been given instructions to ring them up and get more info on that. I know its "only" 38p a month but thats MY 38p, not theirs!
Have been awake since 4.30am for the third time this week so I'm tired and really flagging. Just popped to Tesco for some potatoes and walked out with a bag full of biscuits and no potatoes, I'm such a liability when I go shopping without a list! Fox's crunch creams were on BOGOF though, far too hard for a pregnant me to resist!
Finally remembered to send off the tax credits renewal thingy that's been sitting on the stairs for a month. I really do need to get more organised!0 -
Well done on sending the tax credits off and the spuds can wait - biccies are better!
I'd definitely be on the phone about the 38p! Without a doubt.
I need to call my gas and electric company to get them to reduce my monthly payment as we're using alot less now but they base it on last 12 months which was when I was on maternity leave and used loads. Will argue that one out with them.
My tax credits were taken off me now I am back to work
I too have been awake early, last night due to nightmares which sounds weird for a 30yr old woman - don't know what's caused that. Although I love the summer it seems wrong going to sleep in the light and waking in the light!
xDebt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
Loan 1 £1787
Loan 2 £1683
Total £8601 Was £393020 -
I'm with Eon for gas and electricity and they've just put my direct debit up to £93 a month  I know we use a lot with me being at home all day but its just such a lot of money! We had prepayment metres up until about a year ago, I'm so glad we managed to get back onto a regular metre because I'm sure we wouldn't be able to keep the key topped up with prices rising like they are! I did find the energy monitor thing but I need to get DH to plug it in to the fuse box or something (???) I don't do electrics, far too complicated for me!
The tax credits system just seems so backwards at the moment, I have to get my dad (who's an accountant) to help me get the forms right! Last year they wanted to claw back £5000 from me, but they'd only paid me £2000!!! Thank goodness for Dad, he sorted it all out. I'm really looking forward to getting back to work so I don't have to rely on tax credits for income anymore, but having said that, I've no idea how we'll afford childcare without some help from them! Just wish it was simpler!0 -
Finally took myself off to the doctors today (at DH's insistance because he's sick of living with a harpy) and I've got a blimming water infection
gah just what I need!
Really looking forward to not being pregnant anymore - I love babies and children and would cheerfully have dozens of them if pregnancy wasn't so awful to me! Probably natures way of telling meI can't afford any more :rotfl:
It has however been a NSD today :j got to look on the brightside!0 -
Hey u! Gud on u for starting up, am looking forward to reading more.

LOL hey Natty, thanks for the SOA bashing

Right, answers
The contents insurance is included in the buildings - its just the SOA wants you to split them up and pregnant pea brain couldn't do the maths :rotfl:
Sky HAS to go. DH has been tasked with this. Unfortunately due to him being the biggest geek in the entire world he wants to find a way of making our server have TV channels on it....or something, this is the point when I switch off, go to sleep or burst into tears...
The internet deal is with Sky and its their unlimited one (again, Winnie turns off when DH starts rattling about download limits) and he needs it for *something* that apparently does save us money in the long run. I haven't been able to find another unlimited package for less than a tenner though...
Groceries...£175 for three of us....(god knows how much it'll increase when baby arrives ) but lots of cooking from scratch, spuds and eggs from the farm shop etc its taken me a while to get it this low but I'm pleased with it, just don't want it to go much above £250 a month once we're including nappies and formula...also hoping any increase in tax credits/child benefit will cover this!
So there you go Oh Great Paddle Master
... now where's yours
