Morning all!
Thanks for popping in Ted! I keep popping over to our paddling thread but never have much to say so don't post, but I am lurking!
I guess not having much to add to a DMP thread is probably a good thing because it means all things debt related are running smoothly. It does feel a bit stagnant though, almost like I have nothing to do!
I do have things to do though. I have two PPI reclaims to send off and I've found the paperwork for both of them. In fact I did that weeks ago and have been sitting on it since
. Very bad Winnie, must pull finger out!
I did manage to sit and do a huge pile of filing yesterday - all old statements and tax credits notifications etc. I haven't chucked any out because I wasn't sure how much of it needed to be kept and I wasn't feeling THAT organised but I'm still pleased I managed to clear one pile! Just another pile of old paperwork to go and then thats all done
! Have found several bags and boxes full of DS's old school books and finger paintings and the like so I want to get one of those proper archive boxes and put it all away and keep it for him. I also found the photos from my wedding to his dad. God I was so young! But I'll keep them for him and he can decide whether he wants to keep them or not when he's older.
I am having problems with KH ex at the moment. He's just such an ignorant prat! And he is completely impossible to deal with because of it. He's your typical narcissisc chauvanist (sp?) and its just exhausting trying to get a message accross to him. Something as simple as "have you got DS's football socks" has the potential to turn into a serious problem. *Sigh*.
Anyway, I've made my pad today, I've checked the accounts and now I'm going to do an online shop. I'm completely stuck in bed today, hips and back just aren't playing at all! DH found my Auf Weidersehen Pet box set so I'll have a giggle and induldge my guilty pleasure in Jimmy Nail
while I shop! 0 -
aww winnie, been there with the hips,,,, uck.
my poor dad looks and sounds like jimmy nail (and yes we are geordies)- he spent his working life laughing it off, and folks would presume he could do bricklaying..... my dad was an operations manager! He does share the love of nufc, but that is all!!
get onto your ppi, and do yorself a favour, and get some money in!!! best hour of your life you will spend. well not really, but its a good return... xxxTrying to shift that debt!0 -
Totally agree - if the PPI comes up trumps you will be laughing all the way to the bank

The worst thing about the PPI thing is that I have it all sitting here, letters printed off, agreements found and copied etc I just need to put it in an envelope and send it! Its the trip to the Post Office thats the problem
but I will do it next week, I usually have one good movement day a week so I'll make sure on that day next week I will go to the Post Office and you guys are more than welcome to kick me up the 'arris should I need it
I'm just about to spend over £100 in Asda online... its going to hurt but I've been very careful to only buy things we need. I've stocked up the freezer with bits that are easy to bung in the oven while lugging a baby and I've bought plenty of toothpaste, loo roll, razor blades, dog food, more nappies (at £14 for two big boxes it's too good an offer not too!) and other cleaning stuff. DH is pretty good at shopping but there are some things that I would rather do myself to make sure I get the products that I like. Just want to be organised!
The last few baby bits were delivered today so I now have everything for the baby that I need. Just need some nursing bra's (which I'm going to get from ebay to keep the cost down) and some tops suitable for breastfeeding. I'd like to feed for as long as possible to keep costs down considering formula milk is £9 a tub these days, but I am going to be realistic about it.
I want to get baby into a routine quickly. DS settled himself fairly quickly and was sleeping through by about 4 weeks old, but I doubt I'll be lucky enough to have another one that does that! I am determined though - this pregnancy has really taken it out of me in lots of ways and I'm ready to get my life back. I'm looking forward to doing playgroups and baby yoga and swimming lessons, all the things I was too shy and nervous to do when I had DS.
I think its safe to say that MIL's psychic powers aren't as accurate as we feared. She predicted bubs would arrive between 13th and 16th September. Well its 16th today and I haven't had so much as a twinge! Ah well!
DH is out mending a computer tonight, hopefully he'll be home soon to rub my poor back and rock me off to sleep

aww love, I had one slept through from 6 weeks. One slept through from 9 months, now DS who isnt sleeping through yet.
No 2 are the same. apparently.
Best of luck with sleep xTrying to shift that debt!0 -
Well, I'm still pregnant......
Anyway, had a letter from one of the debt collection people yesterday offering us a settlement
Its the HSBC overdraft which started out at about £500, balance now is £250 and they've offered a figure £162 in full and final. So its not a bad offer, but I'm not sure we can find the cash this month as we have car tax due on the little car (£125). I'll be getting DH to call them on Monday to see if we could pay the £162 in three installments, which we can afford seeing as we've now cancelled Sky, and if they accept that will be cleared by Christmas
The best bit about clearing this one is that we can snowball the £25 a month payments to the two Abbey overdrafts (one at £1900 the other circa £650). All three overdrafts were run up due to hefty charges from the banks which I must try to get back. Same with PPI
Have tidied our bedroom today and I'm going to get the moses basket set up....this baby thing is getting very real now!0 -
Aww @moses basket...... Great news about the settlement, lets hope they go for it.
Baby will come when its cooked, and the longer hes inside the stronger his lungs are. Best place is in the tum.
Keep your chin up, and get the ppi posted monday eh? xTrying to shift that debt!0 -
Morning hun
Hope you're feeling good today. Any news on the PPI posting? I posted most of mine the other day, still have 2 to do but no stamps. Not doing recorded delivery this time round, will do if I don't get anywhere.
Awww I loved getting everything ready for my kids when they were due, making me broody
Fingers crossed they let you pay in installments.

Thank you for the gentle nagging ladies
PPI letters will be taken to the post office this afternoon when I go out to collect DS from school, I promise! I also have a couple of old mobiles to send away so they'll be going too.
Hoping for a plasterer to pop in today and have a look at the hole that used to be a fireplace so I can start getting my living room back. I've got to the point that I don't care how much it's going to cost, I just want it fixed!
I exchanged my Tesco clubcard points on the rewards deal thingy for Jessops vouchers so I'm hoping they'll come soon so I can go and get a little camera for baby snaps. I have a big DSLR that I'll use for "proper" shots but I just want a little one that I can bung in the changing bag and have with us all the time. So I have £60 worth of vouchers and DH says if I want to spend more than that then I can use the money from selling the phones. Sounds like a plan to me! A brand new, money neutral camera - awesome
I'm 37 weeks today so officially full term :j I'm fairly sure I can feel shoulders rather low down wriggling away and there is some definite pressure going on down there. At least he knows where the exit is, even if he's not planning to use it for a while :rotfl:
I couldn't go through with spending the huge amount of money on Asda online that I was thinking about on Friday so I need to go shopping today. Haven't got masses of movement but I'll try! Poor DH is very fed up of being asked to pop into Tesco on the way home and it's about time I pulled my weight a bit
Anyway, a little something for you girls just to make you broody:-
How sweet is that?
