The work programme has only just started in June so may not be what the other posters have actually attended. They will help you find work, they determine the best way to do that, it may be cv help, interview techniques, work experience etc. they are only paid by results, and only once you are in long term employment.

Cool, glad to hear it :)
Are they as strict as they like to make out?
I have a letter stating "YOU WILL DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING WE TELL YOU TO DO, WHEN WE TELL YOU TO DO IT"... Was a bit intimidating!

    whats the exact wording?
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

It included that, yes - studying my CV (luckily they said it was really good and no need to change any of it), asking what I would write in a cover letter, asking where I look for jobs and how I do it. Then there were interview questions (what would you say if you were asked... etc), asking what I'd wear, I've got to go in on Monday for an induction (confused what this was, if not an induction!) and bring statements from my references (so chasing them up over the weekend, which is proving difficult!) and go in on the following Monday for my next session, where they'll go over my 'action plan' and make a new one. Current one is to apply to 10 jobs (which will be no problem at all as I can include the same ones I put in my signing on book - have already almost filled it today) and secure those references for Monday.
Was just over an hour long, and had a lot of asking the same questions again and again. Left it feeling quite drained to be honest, but I don't care how I feel as long as it gets me back into work.

Is it a weekly thing then

It's actually fortnightly but I'm away to my Mum's wedding on the date they wanted me to come back in, so they scheduled it for a week and a half instead of the fortnight. And then there's still the fortnightly job centre visit, which might make a weekly trip for some - mine are in the same week, though.
