so how many hours is it roughly for this newer battery ?No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

Until it says fully charged. Over charging can damage the battery. May only be a couple of hours. Don't leave to charge overnight ever.0

Nonsense. You cannot overcharge it because the phone stops charging when the battery is fully charged. My spare phones are left connected to chargers for months and the batteries are fine.
This thread looks like a wind up.
Just leave the phone connected to the charger till the morning. Or till the next week.0 -
Charge it overnight. Approx 12 hours.0

I never worry about this sort of stuff on newer phones
likie when they say leave the phone to fully charge before first use etc
come on,we all just bung the battery in and play with whatever charge it has
dont we?0 -

Yup, because like I said at the very start, Lithium-Ion and Lithium-Polymer batteries do not suffer from the 'memory-effect' that nickel based batteries do.
I predicted from the start that members would come on here all spouting different charging rituals and regimines. The reality is that if you charge it for ten minutes or ten days, it will not damage the battery or alter it's ability to hold a charge.
You have to know what you are doing to be able to fully discharge a lithium battery, you also need to know what you are doing to be able to charge it beyond a safe level. The battery itself will not let the layman do either of these things.
So in summary: charge for as long as you like...it doesn't matter!0
