Hotel from Hell

I hope I have posted this in the right place.

My issue is that I stayed in a terrible hotel which was so bad that I have reported it to environmental health and the tourist board but the arrogance of the owners is unreal and I can't get a refund. I have fished around and google shows that the hotel is owned by a couple of people of dubious reputation. I want to take it further and my question is, does anyone know how to contact someone who makes these TV programmes like "Holidays from Hell"? I know plenty of staff in the hotel who would like to blow the whistle and lots of disgruntled guests.

Thanks on advance.

A quick google search took me to this page which looks like before holidays from hell launched and they were asking for stories. The contact is http://forum.holidaywatchdog.com/Departure-Lounge-ITV1-Holidays-from-Hell-Undercover-Thread-527.html, bare in mind this is from 2004 but you never know, the email may still be the same. If not, it may give an auto reply with the updated address.

    XXXXXXXX

I have done as have many others but really bad reviews seem to disappear and good reviews (which I know for a fact are written by the owners) remain. I have really lost faith in Trip Advisor.

    Hi Lamper, Welcome to MSE!

How about BBC Holiday Watchdog? I know you're complaining about a hotel, but they may be interested in your experience, you never know! ;)

    Good luck!

How do you know they were written by the owners?

It's hard to comment based on what you've written, what was so bad about the experience?

you could start your campaign by naming the hotel here.

a huge audience and you could post the link of the thread to the hotel....

    nothing hits harder....

and if nothing else - it will help us not waste our ££ going there

I can't say anything else at the moment. This will likely go further and I don't want to prejudice any legal proceedings.

I'm sorry to be so cryptic everyone :o. As soon as I can, believe me I will name and shame on here.

I tried the first email address on here last night and it was bounced back with no alternative given. I don't want to go down the Watchdog route yet. I just want someone to investigate the place without my name being dragged in at this stage.

Thanks to all of you for your help.

    TBH it sounds quite dodgy.

Most people, if they have a problem with a hotel or holiday post an honest detailed review, and include pictures on sites like Tripadvisor and there are many others available.

I joined Tripadvisor myself to do just that because it was nothing like the majority of reviews that we booked the deal on Travel Zoo based upon.

I had to confirm my details and booking and the review turned up about 48hrs later.

I would have been quite happy to name and shame them after I had done this. There is no way that I would join a moneysaving board just to slag off a hotel and ask for advice to appear on a TV show.

After all there are plenty of other sites where you can do that and get that information.

I think you need to prove a bit more about your experience otherwise I smell..... BS!!

I don't want to appear on a TV show. I just want the place investigated.
I can assure you that this is not BS (what would I gain from that?) but I am not happy to name and shame at the moment. I have been advised not to as I have commenced legal proceedings. I have also gathered evidence from employees of the hotel and do not wish to jeapordise them.
I have also posted on MSE before but under a name which gives away my location.
Sorry if this seems dodgy. It seems my question isn't easily answered but thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond.
