stores that are still listed areon the link website

https://www.thelink.com then go to the store finder. call one of the stores that are close to you and see if they can do anything there. some of these numbers may not work now as i know the liverpool store is still listed but that has just closed.

hope you get something sorted but as the previous post says the last link should be closed at the end of jan.
  • I am also an old school 'The Link' employee, what i would like to point out is that the cash/chequeback deals have not been outsourced due to the closure of The Link, they have always been this way from the first day we offered it.

It has never been The Link that these get sent to.

I myself am currently running a chequeback deal which i took out in September, and i am due my first payment in February, i ported my number across and so have 2 different numbers from first to second invoice, what i would suggest in this case, is to highlight, or circle the account number, which will remain the same, alternatively, if you issued your PAC code at point of sale in-store, then the PAC code, your 'keep' number and the 'temporary' number will all be on the contract, why not send a photo copy of that? Thats what i will be doing....

    Hope this helps.

  • I used to work at the link, this did happen once, you need to get it sorted out at a store or by phoning a store if one isnt close enough to you. The last stores close 30th Jan so be quick, but trust me, the stores can sort you out.

the only problem with this is that i bought the phone online.......if u still feel a store can help give me a shout
  • Hi, I have received two cashbacks from the Link even though I ported my number.

I sent a covering letter with the cashback claiming, explaining that I had ported my number from (temp number given to you) to the ported number. I also explained that the account number on the bills are all the same, and also included the receipt (which you have to) which gives the original mobile number.

So it is possible to get cashback with a ported number.

My second cashback was however delayed. Cashback was sent recorded, but they didn't pay my claim within the 28 days, so I had to call them to chase, and they told me it will take another three weeks, but cashback arrived within 10 days.

First thing they asked me was how did I send it, and they checked to see whether they had received a delivery with the tracking number on Royal Mails website.

    this is true :)

it never used to matter that you purchased it online. get the hotline number off https://www.thelink.com and give them a call if there isnt a store near you but the longer you leave it the less chance of getting it sorted

I had sent mine Special Delivery to The Link in November - they claimed not to have received it when I phoned up last week - gave them the reference number with proof when it was signed for, they then apologised and said it would be with me within 3 weeks (already waited over a month - why it takes 3 weeks to write a cheque is beyond me!).

  • I sent my cashback claim on the 21st Nov06 and recieved my check only on 17th Jan 07. When i called them up the had told me that they had not opened my letter till the 28th Dec06. This has happened twice with me.I wonder if this is just a ploy to get some money as interest from the banks by delaying our cashbacks.
  • Not happy with the Link at all. They are denying receiving my claim and I didn't send it recorded delivery. I have phoned several times and then emailed them. They wrote back quoting their T&Cs, basically saying they won't give me my money!

What did you put in your letter? I need help!
