Wimbledon 2011 Letter URGENT HELP!

OP is under no legal obligation to provide the information requested here. This is a fishing exercise by the lawyers.
They could apply to the court for a Norwich Pharmacal Order which would compel you to supply the information (failure to do so is a contempt of court) but they cost thousands to get, and the cost cannot be claimed back by the applicant. They won't go that far.
I would reply stating that you sold the tickets to a friend (unnamed!) at face value and ignore the rest of the letter. I certainly wouldn't sign the 'waiver' of proceedings. As they ask for seat number and row, I assume you didn't provide this on the listing so the tickets are now untraceable. That means they can't prove where they came from either.
I'm not sure what they mean when they state that the tickets are void if sold or advertised for sale. It's a bit late to declare them void after the fact.
Option B is to write back and tell them this was a scam listing, and you never actually had any tickets to sell! That would put them in a hell of a position.0 -
Im not, at any point saying I know what the AEC will do to the OP, but I DO know that the clubs are targetted after the individual. They know where the tickets came from - in terms of club - if you don't tell them specifically where they came from, as in who, then the entire club could be restricted on allocation next/future years.fluffnutter wrote: »visidigi's right; it's the club's that will suffer, and morally it's not a great thing to have done.if the listing had the court and seat number on then they already know the club who had the tickets...kkhimji2001 wrote: »no seat number was on the ticket but on the form it asks for the specific ticket number...Wimbledon will just then go after the club and 00's or 000's of members access to the event could be affected.
Wimbledon have no idea where these tickets came from, and they never will unless the OP tells them or their lawyers.
OP, as others have said, there is no need to respond to that letter or email in any way.
Again as has been said, it is slightly possible that you may get official court papers sent to you.
If that happens, post again.0 -
bingo bango I was just about to say that, it is a scam listing as I was not selling any tickets, I actually went on the day itself with a few friends, so I didn't sell it online, but the solicitors thought I did this!0

How much did you make from the sale of the tickets?0

The tickets were not sold but passed on to a friend last minute even though there was a winning bid on ebay (the transaction was not completed)0

assume this friend gave you face value, otherwise they must be one hell of a friend!"We can all fly as high as the dreams we dare to live...........unless we are a chicken" ~ Anon.0 -
I did sell them but to a friend? everyone sells tickets to their friends and obtain face value for these tickets even though they are not transferable. It was assumed i actually sold them on ebay but it was last minute to see if anyone wanted them and winning bidders did not buy them they were timewasters so I sold them to a friend (of course he payed for drinks and a few other perks on the day as a sign of appreciation)0

I really don't see what you have to worry about then. Let them know you passed on the tickets to a friend at face value, it's not like they can claim your profits back from you as there aren't any.0

you sold them to a friend, and you went with the friend to Wimbledon???
Then you havent done anything wrong!. File the letter in file 13.0
