If you fail to provide and comply with the undertakings by the deadline stated above, our client reserves the right to issue a claim in the high court claim for damages to compensate it for losses flowing from your infringement and/or account of the profits you have made by means of such infringement as well as an injunction. in that event, it will also ask the court to order you to pay all of the costs incurred by our client in bringing the action

I beleive the only tickets for wimbledon which can be legally resold are debentures (although polcing that rule isn't easy...).

They are asking for ticket source to block them from being allocated tickets in future.

Do you know where you got them from? Were you the original listed owner of the tickets? If you don't reply (I didn't get the letter m'lud) then the only real concern you should have is if they actually sold you the tickets...

    Well, it's pretty clear here.

They don't have any damages or losses in respect of your actions. You've not committed a crime, and they're trying to intimidate you. I'm quite interested to know what 'infringement' they're talking about too, but no matter, it's just typical solicitor-talk designed purely to bamboozle and intimidate.

Solicitors are not police, or the courts. They can not just demand information from you. In this respect they've as much right as I have to get you to tell me things, i.e. none.

It's entirely up to you what you do and I appreciate you're frightened and worried. To my mind this is no different to a private parking company trying to 'fine' you for something or other (if you're interested check out the numerous threads on the parking board about this).

    This is what I'd do...

Ignore it. Keep a copy of every letter they've sent but do nothing. Don't respond, don't give them any details. Let them take you to court. If you're taken to court, then ask what damages they've incurred due to your actions.

I ever never heard of Wimbledon taking anyone to court for flogging their tickets on ebay (or elsewhere). It's not worth their while, simply because legally they've not got a leg to stand on.

It will take a bit of courage to ignore the letters - you'll probably get a few more. But nor should you be intimidated into believing you've committed a crime - you haven't.

This is my advice with the caveat that I'm NOT an expert. It's just what I'd do.

I'm hoping some more people will join in soon and help :)

But isnt it a crime to advertise tickets for sale? it is correct that I did advertise them and it was wrong of me to do so?

They know where the tickets came from - in terms of club - if you don't tell them specifically where they came from, as in who, then the entire club could be restricted on allocation next/future years.

They do this to ensure proper fans watch the game - if the original owner didn't want them they should have been returned for allocation.

As they found them on eBay and as they have clearly been provided your address details by eBay I wouldn't ignore this - if you dont reveal it the club could suffer...I just hope you didn't make too much on the tickets...

I don't believe it's a crime to advertise Wimbledon tickets. It might be breach of contract, but that's not criminal, it's a civil matter.

If you've committed a crime, why haven't you got the police knocking at your door?
