See, (and sorry if this is going OT) but it all seems a bit odd to me. I know what they did was and is terrible, I don't get why they are giving up so easily, the paper itself had been around for nearly 170 years, it just seems a bit odd I mean I could understand if it were a failing paper- infact it would seem more people then ever buy it, I could understand if there were other things happening. As if there were more to come out, more to hide or something...

Apparantly there is a lot more to come out, whether it actually hits the public domain is another thing, dont matter the sunday sun will be out within a couple of months, either that or they will bring back the NOTW saying that it was a victory for joe public, as millions of people wanted it to carry on:cool:
Take every day as it comes!!

Be interesting to see just how bad its going to get: tip of the iceberg or have we seen the bulk of it? Whatever else there is, it will be interesting to see what 170 years of newspaper is worth in todays money....or is that just how many gold plated Ferrari's a BSB sale is "worth" to Murdoch?

I wonder if Ford hadn't come out first in the way they did how many other companies would have just carried on advertising like sheep. All other motor manufacturers soon followed Ford's lead!

Someone had to be the first to pull their advertising, it would take a heck of a big coincidence for them all to do it at exactly the same time.

The fact is, some pulled their advertising and others didn't. Nothing to do with following like sheep, just each company making it's own decision.

That's odd, above you refer to companies who carried on advertising as "sheep", but single out Tesco and call them "Ruthless" for doing it.

Make up your mind, were those who chose not to pull their advertising "sheep" or "ruthless"?

Ford got a massive amount of positive publicity for being the first to pull their advertising and immediately stopped any talk of boycott or blacklisting.

They also saved all the allocated money they were going to pay for the advertising.

It was fairly win-win for them.
