Yeah Household income is misleading isn't it? I still live at home and our household income is high but i wouldn't put that on the form as what my folks earn is nothing to do with me.
The thing with 'credit scores' is that they are worthless. The provider will make a decision themselves and not be swayed by what agencies say. A creidt score of 900 will mean nothing to Amex. They won't even look at that. They will just look at your file and make a decision based on the facts presented to them.
If you get one then i may be tempted to go for one! Merry Christmas :beer:0 -
i will keep you updated mate0

I do not know if they are hard to get but I do know that lots of places do not take them so I would not bother. My friend has one and I would say that only half the places we go to take them. I think they charge the retailer more than the others.0

The big retailers will more than likely take them but your independants probably won't.0

Apparently the retailers hate AMEX as getting money back from them is like pulling at teeth, and they get charged a relatively high rate for taking it.
Got mine easy enough with a £3.5k limit and I only have an average credit rating.0 -
I've got 2 AMEX cards. A Nectar one and a new cashback one. They share the credit limit of £10k.
The platinum cashback one is very pretty. Neither were hard to get, but then my income is higher than 20k0 -
American Express charge very high commission rates, as a result when you offer an AE card the usual first response is;- "do you have something else": AND as someone else has already pointed out, a lot of small places don't take them at all. For the same reason !0

thanks again
Having had a Platinum one for 7 years I can assure you there is absolutely nothing Prestigious about them whatsoever.
Customer service is appalling coupled with their disrespect for their customers I decided to get out !!!
Your "credit score" of 888 means ZILCH as their is no such thing as a universal score. All financial institutions have their own lending criteria and will make their decision based on that alone.0
