My mortgage lenders have agreed to accept interest only payments until I am back in employment. I don't know of any temporary (i.e just over month) jobs that would pay enough to cover childcare and my full mortgage.
Tax credits help with childcare. Can you not up your hours at your part time job?
If they find you a full time job in the meantime you won't have a choice.0 -
Oh well. Looks like if you are not looking then you'll have to sign off. Not sure how you will pay the mortgage. I think when the bank say back in employment they mean full time permanent and temporary doesn't count.EleanorRig wrote: »I have been training to be a teaching assistant for the past year, I also volunteer for Home Start, am studying with the Open University and have a part time job (which I declare, before I get lynched!)

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Look all you need to do is search for work, the jobcentre don't know if you have interviewed for jobs unless you tell them, you only have to do 3 steps per week to find work, that can be in looking in the newspaper, going into the jobcentre, looking on direct gov, you dont have to apply for any jobs at all( But it does help)0

EleanorRig - Perhaps you could get a job where you pick up the rice in a church where a wedding has been.
Alternatively maybe Father McKenzie will pay you if you help him write his sermon or darn his socks.
Hope you resolve your issue with the job centre anyway.0 -
if you get a job to cover the period between now and september it doesnt have to be classed as a temporary job. there is nothing stopping you from resigning when the september job is due to start.EleanorRig wrote: »I have been training to be a teaching assistant for the past year, I also volunteer for Home Start, am studying with the Open University and have a part time job (which I declare, before I get lynched!)

Congratulations on getting a job. I'm still looking/trying and applying for jobs everyday for 2 months, as I've been made redundant after 17 years thanks to the ****y Tory Government.
The Jobcentre will expect you to look for work up until September as thats what your signing on for, as I'm sure you already know. I suggest working as a care assistant so you can pick your hours to suit children at school etc. Otherwise theres not much out there.... Hope that helps.0 -

you could just do this OP, write down you looked on 2 websites and local jobs paper for work since it is what you have to do to get your jsa0 -
