Bye Bye 3 - hello T Mobile?
Well, after being effed about by 3, I've been on the hunt for a decent deals for the phone I want, and I think I may have hit some precious metal if not gold.
T Mobile are offering the S2 for £25.64 a month -600 minutes, 500 texts (or vice versa) plus.....
unlimited internet:j! They have made a point that it is unlimited - it specifically states in the brochure that it doesn't matter how much you download - it's OK.
The downside:
No tethering
phone costs £150:eek:
Now I can lay my mitts on that money, but should I?
T Mobile phone cost plus 24 months line rental = £150 + £615 = £765
3 One plan - £35 X 24 = 840.
talk 500 plan = £30 X 24 = £720.
I know I won't go over the minutes (and I'd be damned if I've ever sent more than 5 texts a month, never mind 500), so the question(s):
1: Is tethering worth £37 a year (I COULD get rid of Virgin altogether and use the mobile if it's good enough).
2: Would I really need unlimited? if not, the talk 500 plan is cheaper, but for £23 / year, am I bothered?
The instant gratification monster is now throttling my neck, and I'm planning in going into T mobile tomorrow. But I'm still pining for the One plan......
AAAArgh!

I've just picked up a S2 from T mobile - 18 months at £35 which includes 600 mins unlimited (or might be 3000 cant remember) texts and proper unlimited internet, they don't advertise this (for 18 month deals) online so just go in and ask for it they didn't need much persuading to do it for me
Oh paid £70 for the handset - and it's absolutely brilliant, never thought i'd need another phone after my desire but this blows it out the water0 -
Actually, thinking of it...
The difference in price between the t mobile plan and 3's One works out at £75. Per month that is £6.25 difference - I can easily cut back elsewhere to make up for it.... but 3? Oh no...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
exactally the same situation as me, if you go through quidco via t mobile you get £150 cash back if new customer but i can afford the upfront cost.
i want unlimited from three so i can tether and get rid of virgin if it works good.
i think your the same as i am and tend to use the mins because they are there ive been on a 300min plan before and the mins just aint enough 600 may just be but i dont want to pay £35 a month.
ive seen this if anyones interested?

On the website I do see S2 for 24x£25.64 with 'unlimited' internet and £150 upfront cost.T Mobile are offering the S2 for £25.64 a month -600 minutes, 500 texts (or vice versa) plus.....

However everywhere where I see 'unlimited'
I see 'Data fair use policy' nearby that says "There is a 500MB allowance for streaming videos and uploading and downloading files. If you hit this limit during the month, you won't be able to do this stuff again until the next month." 0 -
Moty, I know exactly how you feel - we are in exactly the same situation and it's a muddled one to do with data.
My original plan was to get the S2 on the One plan, ditch Virgin altogether and save quite a bit of dosh (as the phone would do for a modem - I have a work phone that I'm allowed to use for personal calls (that I pay for at a very cheap rate) should I need to leave the house with the internet on).
The problem is not knowing whether the speeds on the 3 network will be good enough. And I do use the BBC red button for sports multiscreen (like watching F1) - the red button is not so good on freeview as i is on VM, and I don't know if it's available on Freesat which is quote pricey (though Aldi are offering a freesat kit at sixty odd quid - I'll start a thread on that).
If it's the case that I can't get rid of VM, then there's no point in having the One plan, but you're paying just a little bit less for a lot less.
Oh and I've called a few of these online dealers offering the phone at cheap prices. They all said that the phone is out of stock and the waiting time is at about a month, so I'm not bothering with them.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Patience is a virtue. Especially when you are on t-mobile and they throttle the speed after 9pm (at least in my area).
Spoke to t-mobile about this today -been told to take batery out when phone is on and then put in and then take out along with sim card and within 24 hours everything will be dandy. COUGH!0 -

there is no fair use policy, it clearly states
Pay monthly deals
Get truly unlimited internet
on all 24 month plans at £25 or more.
That means unlimited browsing, streaming,
downloading and email. Amazing...
only fair use is on 18month plans and plans less than £25, i veryfied this with tmobile when i ran the shop.
as for tethering i can get 5mb through tethering as i did a speed test on my partners galaxy ace on three.
what to do, its a hard decision, ive still got a few weeks left. i requested my pac code and didnt recieve any call from three it was me ringing them asking for a deal (they must know alot are looking for a better deal and try to use this as leaveage) but they wouldnt budge and i ended up not using my pac code so i rang and told them to move my number to pay and go and give my 30 days notice, since then had one call. see if i get anymore.0 -
As per what I wrote above I've just got the truly unlimited tarrif on an 18 month deal - you just have to ask them0

if you dont mind 24month contract and you get a 3 signal you could have got a better deal with 3 as the phone would have been free and you would have got 1400 mins extra and from what ive now heard it maybe unlimited with tmobile but you cant tether as with 3 you can.0
