Not really for me as I change my phone every year and don't use even 600 minutes so the buyout on a 24 month deal 12 months in would kill it for me

ah ok, i dont understand why these 3rd party companies can offer better deals than the networks themselves and still make a profit.

ive seen some good deals from 3rd party sites but aint to keen on using them, would rather deal with the network themselves.

the phone market has totally changed in the last 12 month, its like everyone is fighting for new customers and not trying to keep old ones.

does anyone know that if you ring up sales fo other networks saying your with a different network and looking for a change whether they offer better deals to you than online or there usual tarriffs?

As already mentioned I have been given a deal you can't officially get. Will be the same with all networks, they will still have set deals but should be able to do something slightly better depending on the time of the month etc

Its not technically true truly unlimited data works like this -checked with a mate who works in retail-

    24month £25+
    18month £30+
12month £35+ (existing customers only on legacy plans)

Also ring the 0800 number on the website for joining mobile they may do a cheaper price

Well, against my better judgement, I went ahead with Three.

Got the S2 on a One plan for a reduced £33 / month (following a complaint to head office).

But what a phone! I'm getting nearly 3 mb download at home (Virgin - 1.5 - 1.8). It's better in some places and worse in others (no reception at all in my office but I am in a basement!). Functionality is brilliant. I've already ditched my satnav as the phone's built in Google maps is good enough for me (lacks some features that I can live without). Music player could be better designed, but I'm not moaning - so that's my broken Ipod replaced.

I've given Virgin their 30 day eff-off notice so that's over £20 a month saved, as I never use the landline and I only really watch channels available on Freeview which I now have.

I have 1 bug bear about the phone - well, 1 and a bit.

    1. Voice activation. Brilliant idea for driving, but it can't pick up voices when driving! Have tried it in a quiet environment and it works really well. Suppose I might have to dig out my old bluetooth earpiece.
    2. Battery. I knew that it was an issue, and despite all my efforts to save battery, it just doesn't last the day unless it only gets used for more traditional functions of a mobile. Thankfully, car chargers, a spare power lead to carry round and USB lines save the day, but I don't like having to keep it on charge to make it last.

Other than that, I'm deliriously happy with the phone. I would have liked to have paid less, but hey, I'm getting my broadband and a mobile together for less than what I have paid seperately.

Now if only Three change the T&Cs to my detriment - 3 One plan Sim Only (£15) - here I (will) come!

Use the widget to turn off the data when you're not using it

Three say "We don't believe in limits" and "tuly unlimited internet" without warranty or conditions attached. So you shouldn't.
